A bit of a duality but my reason for staying alive and wanting to die. The song poses an open ended existential question that forces you to be what the title proposes; a comfort in you numbness. Knowing everything is fleeting no matter what you do. A lot of pink Floyd songs delve deep into the meaningless of it all and how we have to choose to continue or wither away.
