Help Sodium Nitrite past valid date

I have 500g of SN which had a valid date until the January 2020. Does is it still works? Should I get a new one?

When did you buy the SN and did you ever open it? If there's a valid date on there and it says January 2020, just to be safe I would buy new SN if you can.
