Venting Society causing suicidal thoughts

I go through pretty serious bouts of personal things pushing me to the edge, but I'm always constantly passively suicidal because of society. It's like I just know that'll be my way out, whether it happens tomorrow or in a years time. I just know I cannot survive in this world, these people, their politics, the way we're expected to just live our lives, the way we live for the sake of living.

when I think about being alive in the future it makes me want to end it all today. I don't want to see what the future turns out to be like, what my future could be.

I agree, birth, school, work, marriage, kids, die. That is not for me either. I feel the world has been getting worse since 2015 every single day. Now with covid is unliveable. I have no idea what world we are going to come out to after this. All the financial and mental health crisis. Trying to hold on but I don´t know how long I can.

Exactly, just thinking about the future gives me so much anxiety and the worst thing is the only response my therapist has is just, stop thinking about the future and live in the now.

I feel almost the same exact way. Having to be forced to function in a society like this is exactly what makes my CTB inevitable. There is simply no way I can keep going.

Nope she's literally all "just go where the river takes you and dont fight the current"

I don't know, she's really not the best and it's not like she wants to work through them with me, just wants to give me a couple breathing exercises for when those thoughts come

Exactly, it's such crap and I really don't understand how that can even be called advice to begin with.

unfortunately with the was my sessions are planned it doesn't really seem possible so I'm just kind of stuck in this cycle until she realises nothing is changing really

you could always take the direct approach and tell her nothing is changing. you shouldn't be paying for some shit advice and breathing exercises.

To me it seems like a lot of people mostly get depressed about their past, but I hate the thought of living for ~80 years just to learn, work, then die. Might as well skip the middle bit lol

I'm sorry you have to sit through this. I think Vibrittania is right, the only way they're gonna listen is if you just straight up say what you're thinking. Their intentions are good but they're not really understanding how your brain is stuck in a negative thinking pattern

Exactly that's what gets me, gc hanches are I'll have to deal with this for the rest of my life so how about I just not?

I think it could be the way forward, I know she just wants to help but it's really not doing it for me

Yep, and it seems like all of society is happily ignoring the fact we ALL know the bubble is bursting. Not enough food, water, money, jobs, care for elderly, care for disabled, care for mental health, economic viability. Every single aspect is falling apart and nobody can deny it.

I have such a vivid memory of standing in my lower school playground at 7 years old, looking at the houses outside the school gate and knowing I was going to end up taking my own way out. I have a 1 year old nephew and my heart hurts for what he's going to end up with.
