Where did you hear this?? I was gonna use plastic cups myself. I thought the general advice was to use something that was non reactive..and plastic is non reactive..isn't it?
I think the one thing that was forbidden in terms of cups or spoons was metal as it could be reactive. I am wondering if I should get glass cups to be a hundred percent safe now.

I hope that is the case. Plastic cups are preferable over glass as glass can break. One wouldn't want that kind of mess at that time for sure. As far as I had seen, plastic was fine, but guess I'll just double check that once more.
