SN in Thailand

I previously read somewhere that it is totally legal to purchase SN in Thailand, and is very easy and simple process.

Can anyone confirm? If so, is this just for actual residents/ citizens, or is it the same for visitors that only travel there for temporary stay?

Because if it was so easy, I'm curious why this isn't a much more popular option.

The average person just needs to buy a one way flight ticket to travel to Thailand. Then since living there is rather cheap (compared to most first world countries), even just staying there for a few weeks to 1 month, is not completely impossible, even with a small budget.

Will need to add travel visa costs as well, but doesn't cost too much either.

SN price is probably dirt cheap over there as well. Can easily do the hotel + SN method.

Of course, I understand there are still certain mental barriers involved, or emotions/ personal motivation issues, that may get in the way.

But other than this, what's the main reason holding everyone back with this option?

Not saying it is 100% simple, because still requires some basic planning and effort, and basic costs. But at the same time, it also doesn't seem as complicated as many other methods and options out there. Could at least use this as a last resort?

i think sn by itself is pretty desperate option, not worth it to travel over it

Not a cheap flight for everyone (around 500-1k+ USD from USA as an example), and with a one way ticket you'd need another ticket to a different country or have proof you're leaving Thailand.

Dying in a country that isn't your home could also feel weird and if you'd like your body to be recovered by family/loved ones it'd be a big hassle.

I wonder what would happen if end up in the hospital over there, as a visitor, for something like this.

Anyways, since occasionally people would consider going to Peru to find N. So was originally just curious about SN in Thailand as well, as an alternative, because at least it seems more easily obtainable

I think there's pros and cons but I think for the average person even ignoring the cost of the flight itself, the cons will often outweigh the pros.

It seems like a much better idea than going to Peru for that stuff I'll say.
