Discussion SN from a chemical shop

I see various people asking for sources to buy SN. I want to know if it is a salt used to cure meat, people use it personally, why can't we just buy it from an online shop that sells chemicals? I see postings with 99.9 % purity.

1 part SN and (approx) 16 parts table salt = mix for curing meat. SN is not toxic at that ratio, but is if it was full strength, which is why they try to limit who can buy it.

The SN for food is 6% roughly. The lab grade is >95%.
