Help SN came in a paper bag...

I ordered my SN from eBay a couple of days ago and to my surprise today the package arrived (although the delivery was scheduled on Friday). I was a bit frustrated during the whole ordering process because I couldn't find anything smaller and this 1kg package was literally the only option available.

Anyway, the problem is... IT CAME IN A F*CKIN' PAPER BAG, all wrapped up and stapled on its back. If i try to squeeze it a lil bit I can hear the SN scratching the paper, so I came to the conclusion that there's no other plastic wrap or some other safer involucre under that paper. I immediately put the whole package in a sealed container and put it away in the closet, but now instead of feeling relaxed for finally having it and for the fact that I know I can peacefully ctb anytime I want, I feel even more anxious than I was before. Will it work? I read somewhere that if it's not sealed properly, it can turn from nitrite to nitrate and therefore f*ck everything up. I can literally smell it from that crappy piece of paper it's wrapped up in, even though I have not opened it yet and I'm planning to do so only right before I ctb, but I'm so confused right now...

Do you think they're doing it on purpose so as to prevent people from ctb this way? Then why do they keep selling it?! The thing is, this seller has a very high rating from thousands of customers, so I really don't know if it's the case to question the quality of their products or the way they seal them... What do you think? Is it safe? Do you have any idea as to approximately how long it takes nitrite to turn into nitrate when in contact with oxygen? Do you think I should chill out a bit?

I think u must do sodium nitrite aquarium test to be sure. Paper bag is not good package for SN,

That is not a proper way to send any chemical to my knowledge. However due to the very large quantity maybe that is the only way they can send it although I would think a plastic bag would be more suitable.

Definitely test it.

Hopefully it still works. To my mind, only the outer parts will be contaminated/chemically changed due to air exposure/improper packaging.
Best test if it's still good.

This looks more like the cement which I purchased 3 years ago from ebay in order to fix my fence. It came in similar package but with different label. Maybe it would be a great idea to test it in case you got scammed. If you got scammed, post the scammers ebay name and PayPal mail in the scam megathread or tell one of the mods about this.

I would suggest to send an e-mail to the seller and ask if they can guarantee that the paperback is airtight and not nitrit converted into nitrat.I would also ask how long it usually takes for nitrite to convert to nitrate when exposed to oxygen. I guess many people on this forum want to know that.

That's actually a good point. I was thinking that the less I communicate with them, the better it is, because I wouldn't want to arouse any suspicion as to what I purchased it for... But now that I think about it, I couldn't care less. What could they possibly do to me, anyway?

I personally wouldn't trust anything that didn't come in a sealed plastic tub.

Definitely get an SN testing kit and find out for sure - you literally have no idea what's inside that brown paper bag (it might be something that's good enough for curing meat but not potent enough to CTB safely)
