I'm doing SN tonight as well. I honestly am unsure about if it causes brain damage.

SN is a neuroprotectant so it protects the brain, if you want to back out after taking it you can call the hospital and they can help you with little effects. But obviously you can't call if you fall unconscious, so uh, don't fall unconscious.

I think that is why sn is popular, not many physical consequences if things go wrong. But if you are somehow resuscitated after, say 8 hours (very unlikely), things might turn out differently.

I think there was a member that took SN and went to the hospital. They made a thread I think.

Of all the personal stories I've read of people surviving SN attempts (received medical attention voluntarily or involuntarily), none have experienced any kind of brain damage. There's some possible damage to be done but uncommon and not very significant.

I've read scientific articles that state SN basically turns into a carcinogen after contacting stomach acid and there's a correlated increase in risk of gastric cancer. These articles were discussing the rather insignificant levels of SN in dried meats. We are consuming a huge quantity. So I imagine gastric cancer could be down the line for some people who survive SN attempts.

Can you explain this a little more, if you're knowledgeable? I see all the evidence that SN attempts don't damage the brain, but I'm curious the mechanisms of it. I thought SN essentially prevented oxygen from circulating in the blood. How would this NOT affect the brain, and what systems are instead affected which results in death? The idea that the brain could receive oxygen while the rest of the body does not is interesting to me.

Yeah dunno where this myth has come from, for most people surviving sn is like nothing happened.
