what are some smaller things youve done to somewhat help yourself? maybe it was eating more then one meal, or getting out of bed in the morning, anything <3. for example this week i have showered everday, may more then my average ^^. its nice to acknowledge the small steps in self care, and id like to hear others small steps.

Tbh this week has kind if been bad for me in that regard, but something I'm trying to do for myself is to go on walks. Not only do I hope to lose some weight with it, but I also like the calm presence of nature, and I've figured out that it helps with unwinding after a long study session. I'm glad that you are feeling better.

Small steps are the key to decent dopamine levels and even to a full recovery for some, you never know.
Your examples and what you actually did are great.

As for me, walking my doggie, hot showers (sorry, just hate cold plunges) doing the dishes, cleaning my apartment and learning new stuff (I'm obsessed with AI now lol) really help!

streach even once when it's bad
and
not scrolling

scrolling always makes me wanna kill myself
ALWAYS I don't know why. It's not even about the content: meals, recipes, exercises... just HOW
and like watching stuff for too long does this too
and reading and....
consuming content. too much content. too little is also bad

ooo yes, the idleness... after reading/watching too much stuff without typing/interacting (eg playing card game on PC)... it makes one (me, likely others too) feel almost numb.

Feels like I've tried a lot of the generic self-help advice applicable to my situation and it simply didn't help me. Only two exceptions were:

- Not eating garbage/overeating

- getting sunlight

Both of which being things I kind of just do naturally. Though the latter is out of my control these days with the bad weather

idk though, maybe I just never committed long enough to the other stuff

Hmm. Ive not done much but I guess eating every 2-3 days is better than nothing. Ive made lots of coffee. Ive been bathing twice a week which could also be worse. My gf booked an appointment with the dentist for me and is dragging me to that on Monday. I always tell her how much she means to me. Im very lucky to have her, she is such a strong person

It's kinda dumb how just letting my cat sit in my lap can help as much as it does.

When you have a pet that really feels like it loves to be with you, that really takes the weight off sometimes.

Not enough to make it go anyway, but a bit of gratitude for that unconditional love always dulls the ache a little.

OH! what about vitamins? (in safe dosage if without bood tests)
but it requires months of commitment
(with blood tests a few weeks)

if you have vitamin D deficit it makes you more depressed. vitamin B9 too
