I've been recently thinking about trying to cut my throat to die. It seems like it should be fail-proof, but where should I cut? Front of the windpipe I would think

Honestly yes but it certainly seems like a quick enough and damn near fool proof death

i wouldnt call it fail proof. a lot of things could go wrong with this method. the blade might not be sharp enough. you might not cut deep enough. you could pass out.

on a more personal note ive never understood this method. the amount of pain one would have to go through....ill pass lol

Not something I would be interested in as there is so many things that can go wrong and will end up a bit to messy for me as I will cut the wrong area and sit there covered in blood, lol but If you use the search function there are people who have descussed this method, I have put a link below to one of these threads.

It is hard to pull off and the risk is mutilating essential stuff like vocal chords, nerves, etc. and surviving.

I wouldn't recommend this tbh. There's a gore video of a guy getting his throat cut. It looked like it required a lot of effort and was far from quick and the victim has struggled a lot. Also it was messy as hell.

I can't remember everything, but the people in the video spoke in an Eastern European language (or Russian). The victim was killed somewhere outside (there were plants around him) on the ground. If I remember correctly, the victim died. He was gargling until the end. The killer actually had to saw quite a lot.

I wouldn't advise this method. It's going to give you lots of unncecessary suffering. Besides it's not as effective as it seems.

Its not quite as easy as it looks in the movies.
Blade has to be very sharp and you need to press very hard.
Its certainly looks dramatic but as others have said , there are certainly better ways.

Google anatomical structures of the neck. Find Carotid arteries. Don't start at the windpipe, that's Hollywood for you. It's very messy, you'll bleed out in less than 10 secs and if you're pumping on adrenaline, you probably won't feel it.

Doctors can stitch you up. Some people survive for hours after getting their throat slit. You would need to get some practice first which I don't know how you would arrange

Very risky, not foolproof at all. Not to mention the agonizing pain. You deserve better, my advice would be to check the resources thread.

when i was inpatient, i was in there with a girl who tried this method. didn't work and now she has a massive scar on her neck. probably avoid this.

Some of them shoot the animals with a 0.22 rifle between the eye and ear, to stun them, and then they use their knife to let the blood out of the animal while its heart is still beating.

Hogs are a lot bigger than most humans with a thicker skin and muscular, but their anatomy is nearly identical in most other ways. The farmers stab into both sides of the hog necks going for their carotids, and then cut cross sectional as one technique for bloodletting the hogs.

I read of a man who actually did this for a living in a slaughterhouse bloodletting all of the hogs. He tried this method on himself cutting the arteries in his neck and I think it worked for him... It has failed many other people who tried though, and I think it is a very gruesome thing for them to go through!

I'm sure I would want to CTB after this kind of "work" alone! Brutal... damn. I agree that carotid are probably the most effective or the jugular. Risky business!

From the videos ive seen of people going this way, they are really out there, they wouldnt be able to write about it here. I think it takes ALOT of you to go thru, like being seriously mentally ill. Or mayby drugged out of your mind.
