Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Ok I'm going to purchase a rope, but I'm not sure what mm thickness I need I was thinking 12-15mm thick, it's from a shop online and says can handle my weight like 5x over.

I am only working with banister railings here, and I'm not the best DIY person.

Anyway I was thinking to tie a slip knot, now where I get confused. The part of the rope that needs to be remained static (anchored) am I right in thinking that needs to help tightly against something, in my case it would be the bottom of the banister of the stairs. Then when my head goes in and I drop the knot will tighten enough and that's it?

Few questions,

1. Do I need to tie a proper anchorage knot on the other side to the banisters or can I just rap it around and do a very basic knot? And just test it's held in place or will this fail?

2. Will say half a meter off the ground for me be enough or need more?

3. Basically I'm thinking to tie the end around the bottom banister, hold myself up with my hands while my head is inside the slipknot and then just drop and let myself go.

What's peoples input? Is this dinner to failure or will it work?
