I've been trying to find a good ligature method and came across slide belts. They seem perfect: they're basically just ratcheting strap loops. Many can be cut to size. They're not intended to be cut down to ~15 inches, but I don't see why they couldn't be. Some have buckle mechanisms that aren't *too* likely to be accidentally released during the attempt. Others have flip-open buckles that seem fairly risky, although if they keep your pants up all day they can probably do the job.

I would link to what I'm looking at but the site policy says no links. Here's a picture instead. I might look for cloth instead of leather though. Note the ratchet teeth on the inside of the belt.

Has anyone looked into slide belts as an option? Anyone have experience with them?

Thanks. I agree that there's some discussion about ratchet straps, but I haven't seen any discussion of slide belts specifically.

Slide belts seem particularly convenient. Many ratchet straps look like the ratchet mechanism would dig into the neck. Slide belts are specifically designed not to do that.

Edit: this was a reply to a reply that pointed out that ratchet straps were brought up in other threads. But that original reply appears to be deleted.
