I'm so tired, I just want to sleep!

I'm on loads of medication to help my pain relief and for about 7 years I have had to use Promethazine at night to get any type of sleep.

It's gotten to the point where that doesn't work anymore.

I have tried using Kalms etc but nothing works. One of the reasons I have put in my suicide note is tiredness. Is that a bit pathetic?

Love you all

I have the same problem... Its gotten that worse, i just fall asleep everywhere... Doesn't matter, i just fall asleep at the most weird and inconvenient places.

I took oxazepam for a long time, doesn't work anymore. I can't relax enough to fall asleep naturally. The herbs @Sensei recommend here somewhere do help a bit though.

Edit : I don't want to ctb, but i do understand that this is high on the list why others want to

No, I don't think it's pathetic. I also have horrible pain in my body, and it makes me want to die in the most painful and unthinkable way possible.

I have had Chronic sleep onset insomnia for 20 years. I'm on meds for the rest of my life. It is the most torturous, health and Psyche wrecking condition ever. I've lost months of my life to nights of no sleep. I've traveled from one side of London to the other to work, day after day with no sleep. I had a breakdown, started hearing voices and had to stop working. I had a sleep specialist at a prominent London hospital take me on. Even he couldn't help me in the end. If you ever need someone to lean on I'm here. Hugs.

I use promethazine as well but it started to stop working as well lately and I just started taking higher and higher doses to try and get the effect back. Lack of sleep and insomnia suck big style. I can sleep for 1 - 3 hours and then be awake for 2 days if I don't have meds, I just can't sleep so I totally understand where you're coming from. It sucks. Sending you some love ❤️

I used to take sleep medication. These days I use CBD oil. I don't know if it helps or if it's other stuff or just the placebo effect, bit I AM calmer and I'm sleeping quite well.
To put this in context, last year I went for six months with less than two hours a night, partly due to anxiety and sleep starts but also due to nocturia (having to pee all night). And all day and much off the night I was pacing in frantic fear trying to get the courage up to end my misery.
Eventually exhaustion won it and I added a small dose of CBD oil to the mix. Now I'm listening to my body's needs. I refuse any sedation due to the need to listen to my body and the necessity to get up and pee when I have to. But I AM sleeping, without any hardcore medication, despite the dire panic I was previously in.
I don't know if that experience is any help, I do know how awful it is and how much worse it makes everything else.

Hi, I second that. My well wishes to the original poster. I'm there too. Can't sleep for a noise + vibration in my house 24 hours a day, landlord won't fix it, ombudsman endorse the abuse /neglect from the landlord .. I don't want to ctb either but I also understand why others may be driven to the idea of it being the only escape. It's hell since over 2years now. :'(

That's awful. That's precisely the reason why landlords get turds posted anonymously in their letterbox every month until the problem is fixed. Not giving you any ideas or anything.:O:tongue::hug:

Hi thank you. Sadly this won't fix mine (ideas gratefully received tho :) ) as mine are seemingly untouchable, being a local council. Don't worry, if the ombudsman higher rank doesn't sort the council lazy asses this will go to court as the new Homes Act 2019 which came into effect 20 March 2020, allows ANY and all residents to get a court order against any, private or local authority landlord to get the work done!

These twits have already spent a significant amount of money on plumbers services (who couldn't find a ballCOCK to save their lives .. and whose director thinks an AERIAL LEAD OUTSIDE the house "might be your problem" ... this is ridiculous beyond words (and might make it into a book when we eff off to a decent place - hopefully not too far distant future - virus permitting of course)

Hahaha it sounds like you are on he ball.
I recently lost my single person's allowance because the council invented a member of my family to say I lived with. I had to prove I had sole ownership of the house.
Fuckwits conflated my name with the solicitor's and came up with a fictional third party! When I bollocked them over it they agreed to give me my money back in installments off next year's bill. I told them I wanted it now and it appears to finally have come through. No explanation, no apology, just an updated bill.
Shame the turds idea won't work though.
Have you tried your MP?

Bruh it's not pathetic at all, when I don't sleep right I slowly lose it.. Lol
Can't imagine never being able to now
I'm constantly sleeping from my drugs, they're for anxiety so I figured maybe you havent heard of it ? Hydroxophene... It also gives you BAD dry mouth though.
Tbh that's probably of no help unless you somehow have a way to get that prescribed to you gglguglg.. Either way.

Sleep ? What is it ? ...

Sleep is when you lay on your back in bed with your eyes wide open and stare at the ceiling going over all the mistakes you've ever done in your life in excruciating detail.

I'm not sure if you've tried this avenue but if you can, try and get referred to an endocrinoloist. Sleep disorders can be caused by hormonal imbalance; too much or too little cortisol, adrenaline, thyroid etc and all the other hormones your body produces. Adrenal issues can be devastating for sleep onset, duration and quality for example.
