• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I was wondering if any of you consider yourselves prochoice even before knowing about this forum, I for one already considered myself prochoice a few months before knowing about this site

Before finding this forum I guess I would've been a suicidal pro-lifer if that even makes sense, lol. I'd see a poster at a train station saying "suicide is the biggest killer of young men" and I'd think "Oh no! How horrible!"

It was a bit hypocritical, wasn't it? Thank god I came to my senses.

Even before I came to this forum I had the opinion suicide was a choice that anyone should be allowed to make, I just didn't know about the label that is pro-choice. This forum has just reinforced these views I have. I have basically had this view since I started being suicidal and before that I didn't know suicide was a thing that existed so I could never be really consider as a pro-lifer at all in my life.

I don't remember exactly when, but I know about 7 years ago I had a partner who was suicidal and I would try anything I could to get them to change their mind. I always look back at that and regret all the selfish things I said to them about suicide. Soon after, I realized how stupid and selfish it is to try to tell someone what to do with their life.

I have always been since birth, especially knowing about death. I found it odd people were so opposed to people dying so much and felt it was a bit of a control thing, and even looking back, I was right, especially when I had a friend who was depressed about a Kpoper's death, yet she didn't understand his pain, and the only first time I ever felt someone's pain equal to mine was Sulli, and yet, that friend, however she made it out to me, did great to grieve him, but she didn't know him enough, and knew that pro-choice on a person was a act of understanding, and when it even came to a discussion about how society is, I felt that decision should exist a long time ago

Always. As long as I can remember when I hear about someone dying of suicide I can't help but feel "good for them"

Before I was suicidal my whole life I was very pro-life.

Reason being, seeing suicide being presented as silly and bad everywhere made me internalize those ideas and I never questioned it.

Even when I became somewhat suicidal I was still strongly pro-life, except for myself. "Suicidal pro-lifer", as @ma0 said.

It was only when I became very suicidal that I became pro-choice, when I found out the hard way what its like to be very suicidal, and how suicidal people are treated. Brutal way to find out, knocked sense in me quick.

I've been strongly pro-choice ever since.

I think pretty much as soon as I found out about suicide, I saw it as a reasonable choice for people who were struggling to make. I got introduced to death age 3 and 4 when my Mum and Grandpa died, so I'd figured out life wasn't all rainbows early on.

A little later in life I had family members who believed suicides went to hell so, that made it troubling when my own ideation came along but I soon figured out they were mainly their beliefs rather than mine. So, in a way, I've pretty much always been pro-choice.

Always been pro-choice, even if I was not always suicidal. Don't see why it should even be an issue.

After reading about peoples experience, some people do not deserve the things happening to them and it is selfish to say ''no dont ctb'' but if the same things happened to us we probably would want to ctb too. Its a selfish thing to say ''dont ctb'' when you cant even empathize the pain they've been trough. Ofc I wish people heal themselves and move on but some people dont have that chance and its unbearable for them.

I believe that every individual has the right to make deeply personal choices about their own lives, including the decision to end it if they are facing unbearable suffering or have reached a point where continuing no longer aligns with their values and dignity. Respecting autonomy means honoring the right of people to determine their own paths, even when those decisions are difficult for others to accept. Compassion and understanding should guide our approach to this sensitive issue, ensuring that those contemplating such a decision have access to support, mental health resources, and, if appropriate, a dignified and humane process.

At the same time, I hold hope that those who can find a way to move forward will give life a second chance. Sometimes, with time, support, and understanding, it's possible to rediscover meaning and joy, even after the darkest moments. Compassion should guide our approach, ensuring that people feel seen, heard, and supported, no matter where they are on their journey. <<33 Take care you all

Well, I think that our life and body are the only things we have, considering them a "possession" we can do whatever we want with them.

Yes, I'm pro-choice in general. For me, everyone is free to decide when to end their life, or modify their body or appearance, etc.

This thought probably first arose when I was 13 and wanted to get piercings lol

Even when i was younger and never had a suicidal thought, i thought that in certain situations, suicide was the best decision.

Since I met life. I just don't understand what's the point of living? We will die eventually so nothing will last. what's the big deal if we meet death on our term? If you think about it, dying young better than getting older and dependant.

I've always been pro choice, as long as you're not harming anyone else. Your life, your body is your own. Even if it's a great of the moment thing you still made your own choice so why should I stop you or say you can't?

since we do not ask to get put in this shithole, we should be able to choose, for ourselves, when we want to leave.

I think from the point I started to feel suicidal and understood the pain some people can go through and after my parents fucked up my mind enough to stop caring about everything, maybe.
