Help should i hang myself or just jump from the top of my house?

hi i really want to end it asap because im about to lose my scholarship and get kicked out maybe. a lot of people also find me annoying and i end up feeling lonely as shit so i think it's just better if i ctb. i dont have access to chemicals like SN which is why i can only hang myself or jump from the top of my house (4 floors tall).

what method is better? thanks.

I think if you jump from that height you have a low chance of dying and will probably just be injured and survive.

If you jump from the top of a house, you most likely will have a number of painful injuries such as broken bones. None of them fatal. Four floors is not really very high.

(It is regulated online sadly especially since more and more people now are becoming aware of how SN is used as a suicide method). I'm not really sure what to do anymore.

Hanging is a reliable method. All you need is a rope, an anchor, and some privacy.

thanks! i think most of these are cheap and available online so i can probably buy them. hoping i get to go onto the other side successfully the next time i attempt

SN is tricky- I had an easy time getting it but I didn't bother with an antiemetic. I got drunk, took a handful of sleeping pills, and put a tourniquet around my neck. When I started nodding off, I drank the N and tightened the strap. I passed out and woke up covered in vomit and bruises from deathrolling I guess lol. And I generally have a strong stomach.

If I was going to jump, I wouldn't be comfortable with only 4 stories.

I have a shotgun that I plan on using in a week or two and am comfortable with those odds. If I didn't have a gun, I'd probably make another tourniquet/night-night method. I'm not sure I could do a proper hanging.

If you were gonna go that route, all you'd need is a ratchet strap (~$10 from Walmart), maybe some duct tape, and either those mini beanbags folks use to play Cornhole or even wadded up socks could work. If youre able to get the placement just so, you wouldn't even need it too tight. You'll still be able to breathe and you'll just kinda drift off... When I was practicing it actually felt really nice. The idea is to cut off blood flow to your noggin but not airflow.

I'd be glad to talk more about it but I'd imagine there's a proper guide somewhere that'll do a much better job of explaining lol.

Hey and please dont think I'm trying to talk down to you but to be clear - jumping 4 stories is a bad idea.

You might get very lucky and hit your head hard enough but you are much, much more likely to just maim yourself.

First off, let me say how sorry I am that you feel so much pain and that life has brought you to this point. Secondly, I want to affirm your right to choose what to do with your life. I truly believe that it is completely up to you.

Still, I just want to let you know that things may not be as hopeless as you think. As a former professor, I can tell you that I've seen similar situations unfold. There are always other paths to success. I myself failed 5 of my 10 courses in my junior year of college. I still ended up getting a doctorate years later. A rough patch in school need not be the end.

And as for friends, it can be very difficult to "find your people." Thankfully, there are places like SS where we can meet like-minded people and find a supportive, welcoming community.

I hope that you find peace in whatever way is best for you. Just know that we're here to support you.

jumping from a 4 storey house would give you a 50/50 chance of death if you land on your head, much lower otherwise; it likely wouldn't be quick, or painless. hanging is a very reliable method, and quick and painless if done right; the only thing I might not recommend about it is that hanging corpses look really disturbing which is why I would never consider it for myself.

Jumping is honestly faster but getting over the thought of committing is the hardest. Hanging on the other hand takes time and SI will kick in at some point.

4 floors tall might not even be a 50 50 chance of dying. Even jumping from 84 feet still has a 10% chance of survival if you land on concrete. Hanging has risks too but if these are your only two methods definitely go with hanging if you do it.

I think both methods require planning and courage. I think if the jump is high enough there is a low chance of survival, but is risky if not. Hanging scares me and I guess survival instinct can get in the way which is what would stop me. I would love a peaceful way out. I wish you well, I'm sorry life has been cruel to you.
