Bringing out the Dead and Searching for the Living

I've been researching CTB with firearms recently, and more specifically shotguns. While doing so, I stumbled upon a link to a gore site of someone shooting themselves via the mouth. I've never been the type to watch gore for fun, so initially I was hesitant to click. However, I did as I saw this as "research" and I felt I should know how it looks before I pursue it myself. It was disgusting, but beautiful in some way. I work in emergency healthcare and I have seen exposed skull before (i.e., missing skin and flesh leaving the skull exposed), but I had never seen the inside of a human head blown apart. It was distressing in some way, but also peaceful. The man in the video one minute was pointing the gun at himself and the next he was gone. There was no struggle or SI, no tears, no apparent pain. It seemed as if he had simply ceased to exist in the blink of an eye, and that his body was left limp. I doubt he felt anything, as his brain appeared to essentially be completely destroyed -- from my education it appears to have been "performed" in an adequate manner.

I've never cared much for what happens after. I'm ok with decapitation, my body being mangled, whatever -- not like I'll need it anymore. This video really made me want to pursue this method further (it was a few days ago I saw it I'm not sure where the link is). However, it's difficult as I live in Canada. Compared to many other countries it is definitely easier to obtain a shotgun, but still not necessarily easy. You have to have two references who you have known for 3+ years (difficult for someone isolated as myself) who will testify that you have no mental health concerns and that they do not see any reason you should not be allowed to acquire/posess a deadly weapon. I have two people I have known for that time, but I'm not sure if they would even be willing to testify for something like this. Additionally, I would probably have to explicitly ask them to lie as I have an (undiagnosed but known to them) mental health history. I also wonder if they would feel guilt surrounding my death, or if they would be at risk for some sort of legal trouble as they would have possibly lied to a federal police officer or other government official and facilitated my suicide. I just wish we had some Futurama-esque suicide booth where I could wrap my mouth around a barrel and have my life end in a moment. I saw another post recently state that dying peacefully and painlessly is a lot to ask of the world as even unintentional death is usually not graceful, but I just wish we could have it. It is definitely possible with modern technology, but it is restricted. There could be suicide kits sold in pharmacies just as there is plan-b pills that come with vials of nembutal or some other potent sedative capable of causing arrest. But there is not :/

We would have suicide booths available .

The only reason we don't have any suicide Booths available is because the monsters in all the governments went to great effort to write laws to make suicide booths a crime

Same thing for someone helping u with suicide they mad that a crime . Also nembutal etc

I also just wish for the option to just painlessly and instantly die, it's all I've personally ever hoped for. But anyway I wish you the best.

This is how I would do it. I'd go somewhere out in the woods so none of my family found me. Just pull the trigger…and sweet relief.

I don't even own a gun, so I'm a few steps away from being able to do it. But if I made up my mind, that's how it would happen.

Wow. That's a lot of hoops to jump through. I'm American and I can buy a shotgun no problem. Why am I even researching suicide methods? If I'm serious, there it is. It will work and it will be painless.

Unfortunately I do not share your view of an exploded head. Also the fact that I'd have to use willpower at the instant of death. I would much rather be passively poisoned or asphyxiated. It's a shame there's no euthanasia for people like me, at least not in this country. When you've wrecked your life and mind you see how needed it is.

Question. Do you really have to be alive for organ donation? I don't want my family to find me headless or have to clean up. If I went to a park, called 911, and told them to get me (within minutes), could my organs be used?

I know people often take a while to die from pistol shots. I can't risk survival with brain damage, so that's out. But I know they're sources for organs. Does freshly dead work?

From what I've read suicide with a rifle or pistol is still very reliable, and the damage would be much less (you would probably be left with a hole at the back of your head, but your head would not be exploded as it would with a shotgun). Especially if you have prior knowledge and experience with firearms, I think it could be a good method. The issue for me though is that I don't. A shotgun may somewhat be overkill, but I want certainty in death -- even if it leaves my body disfigured. I hope to not be found anyway, so not much of an issue for me if all goes well. As far as willpower goes of course you need to pull the trigger, but it's one moment of choosing to die compared to other methods like SN which require you to swallow the mixture and then just wait to die/pass away while possibly experiencing stomach discomfort, anxiety, second-thoughts, etc. Same goes for other methods like hanging. Difficult nonetheless with firearms, but I feel the momentary nature would make it easier and not much ability to back out due to SI.

I would much rather be passively poisoned or asphyxiated.
If I could die passively in an instantaneous or calm/relaxing way I would too. However, voluntary euthanasia for people with no incurable physical conditions is practically non-existent. Some countries (including my own) are starting to explore assisted death for those with mental illness, but even in these rare cases you usually need to have years of recorded therapy and mental health clinicians to advocate that your condition is untreatable and that you are eligible for the services.

Question. Do you really have to be alive for organ donation? I don't want my family to find me headless or have to clean up. If I went to a park, called 911, and told them to get me (within minutes), could my organs be used?
I'm a Canadian so obviously it's going to be different for you, but where I live you simply have to sign up to the database and once you're on it it'll say on your driver's license or ID that you're a donor. Your organs could theoretically be used -- but paramedics generally do not even consider whether someone is a donor or not. Obviously if they can save you they will try, and if you were to be found within minutes of shooting yourself chances are they may try as freshly dead generally have good outcomes from cardiac arrest. This may not be the case though depending on what type of gun you have and what the injury was. If your head was blown apart by a point-blank shotgun blast and your brain was destroyed, this would be an "injury incompatible with life" and there would be no attempt at resuscitation. Even with CPR, defibrillation, airway management, and medications if your brainstem is destroyed there is no communication between your heart and brain and it would be impossible to come back from that. However, if you tried to shoot yourself at the temple with a pistol and just blew off your face, there may be chances that you would survive (even if you had brain damage), and they may try. Really is a case-by-case basis type of thing depending on injury/how much of the brain was involved or how "open" the skull is and also depends on protocols (which vary by jurisdiction) and the judgment of the paramedic/EMT or the guidance they are given if they choose to call a doctor (medical direction) for advice on how to handle the emergency.

I know people often take a while to die from pistol shots. I can't risk survival with brain damage, so that's out. But I know they're sources for organs. Does freshly dead work?
See above, answered it a bit in the last quote. Again, varies by jurisdiction and organ donation is honestly something I never deal with as once someone is declared dead it's the coroner/medical examiner who is in charge from there. For organ donation, you would probably want to be immediately declared dead due to having injuries incompatible with life (pretty much you destroyed your brain and it is non-salvageable). The reason for this is that in this case the coroner would be called quicker, and your body would not be put through the trauma of CPR (broken ribs, possible damage to the heart/lungs, etc). This is me guessing as practices may be different in the US, but at that point the paramedic/EMT would most likely call their supervisor or police who would inform the medical examiner who would then take your body. Suicides are usually considered suspicious deaths and require autopsy/investigation in Canada, so they may do some other things before organ harvesting. Once all that is done, if you are still "fresh" I assume they would then take whatever you signed up for (in Canada you can choose what you want to donate, some people only donate solid organs while others donate tissue like skin). I'm honestly not sure what the timeline is for organ harvesting or how it would work, so probably best to do your research if this is a big part of your method. However don't think that being an organ donor will prevent you from being resuscitated if you are viable. If there is a chance, they will always try to save you. This research paper focusing on organ donors who died by suicide in Australia and NZ offers optimistic numbers. It states that out of 220 who died by hanging, 198 had their organs harvested and 197 had their organs actually transplanted. Out of 3798 who died by other methods of suicide, 3301 had their organs harvested and 3204 were taken to transplant. Obviously this is a complicated subject, and I'm sure there are variables beyond method which determine if your organs will be harvested/transplanted or not such as health or other things like that. If you want to message me I'd be glad to discuss further!

I'm American and I can buy a shotgun no problem. Why am I even researching suicide methods? If I'm serious, there it is. It will work and it will be painless.
I envy you.
