Am I able to cut my thighs with a ceramic shard I got from a thick, broken bowl? I cut in the shower so it's easier to clean off the blood. I'm aware that for glass there's a risk of fragments getting stuck in my bloodstream but wanted to know if the same applies to ceramic shards.

Anything that breaks up can get into body and cancer infections or other problems. If you want to SH safely, get a sharp blade. This will allow the cuts to heal as quickly as possible (depending on depth etc) thereby minimising the chance of infection.
