one of my friends I've talked about before on the site asked me if I'd cut myself, I lied and told her no

Idk whats right. Idk what her reaction would be if she found out I lied, and furthermore what her reaction would be if she knew why i sh'ed was bc of her. I think its better if she doesn't know, as much as she has hurt me I don't wanna burden her with this.

I'm at the point I don't tell anyone anything anymore. They won't understand and all it will do is freak them out.

Isolation can be an effective strategy to avoid getting hurt. However, it can also be a source of a different type of pain. A lot of combat veterans found that whenever they shared with others, it creeped them out. Many self-medicated with alcohol in their isolation and made things worse.

In reaching out to others one risks them :freaking out". You can try to improve the odds by selecting volunteer or church groups where people are supposed to be nicer. However, one can have bad encounters there as well. We live in a time when people can be pretty brutal and selfish. However, there are still those who can show concern and care. The trick is being able to sift through hundreds to find them.

Sometimes a local support group can be helpful as many may already be familiar with some of life's major difficulties and they would be less likely to reject one.
