They are equally peaceful from what I gather. As far as I know secobarbital was designed to be faster acting than pentobarbital.

With Secobarbital, there's a ceremony where you meet with god and discuss exotic matters. That's extra bonus

Both the same.
It doesn't matter if you take Euthasol or halatol or secobarital or pentobarbital
Its all the same but they do vary in strength of concentration in mg in ml

He probably was on opioids for pain of the chemo and cancer. That will prolong coma and interfere with pentobarbital. They didn't give the extra OD so thats why he woke up.
In holland they do injection with 15.
But when you drink it the chance of going in a long coma is a bit higher and they must give and other extra OD after 30 minutes to finish the job.
So they did not have enough experience there the doctors and didn't count in the factors that can have negative effects

@Berlin76 He was administered Secobarbital, not Pentobarbital. Back in the 2000s, they would use both in that state (that year in 2005, 89% N exits vs 11% Seconal)

The remark you made about the advantage of having a supervised euthanasia rather than be on your own, unassisted, is also pretty spot on.

Ok bizar about percentage of use etc.
Here they also use seco but mostly pento in assisted suicide and euthanasia.
But when drinking they must inject a extra Od after 30 minutes to be sure the patient dies. They also going to do this with mine euthanasia next month.
The team already prepared me for this and my family.
Must have been a shock for the family this situation. But a lesson learned for the doctors there.
But he did have a good sleep right that a positive thing ;)
