Just to pre-empt this post, I wasn't scammed by DMC nor was my actual CBT plans interupted, and it seems my SN will still arrive. I ordered from DMC a bit ago, the entire process was pretty easy, and my package was schedueled to arrive soon at my PO box. Only, I woke up yesterday to a message from USPS telling me I had 24 hours to re-place my order and verify my adress or my package would be indefinitely held. I thought this was due to me using a PO box for the first time and not really being sure how it worked, so I believed it pretty readily. I planned to stop by the post office my PO box is at to walk through the process with staff to ensure my SN was delivered properly, but as I arrived I realized that it was veterans day, so the office was closed. A day of panicking then followed, trying to contact friends to see if I could deliver a nondescript package to them without them asking questions, making a USPS account and registering everything, and finally I went through the link given by the message after procrastinating all day. Everything seemed to work fine, I re-inputed my PO box adress and it didn't seem I'd need my friends help. But at the very end of the process, the site asked for a .03 cent re-delivery fee. I tried to pay this, first with my credit card, then with every single gift card I owned. Every single one was denied, and I was panicking to the point of throwing up in my bathroom, as I'd procrasinated so long that I only had an hour left before the 24 hour period to re-order ended. It was at this point I actually started to look up details, and quickly realized I was just scammed. The URL was wrong, USPS doens't charge a fee for redelivery, and half of the links and options on the page didn't even work, they were just static pngs. I have never been so relived in my entire life as when I realized this. I don't even care that hundreds of dollars are likely gone. I have no will to stop them or do anything about them. I'm just so happy that my SN is still coming. It is, however, INCREDIBLY fitting that what is essentially my last act sees me procrastinating, begging others for help, throwing up from nervousness, and being scammed. Few things could sum up me better. I texted the number the scam came from asking them to wait till I died to start taking money out of my bank account, but I don't really care if they follow through or not. Its hard not to just find it all kind of funny at this point, but I guess scammers do profit off people at their lowest the most often.
