I feel like my time is rapidly approaching. I truly have nothing to live for. I haven't for a long time. But it's become so unbearable I can barely breathe. The only thing that motivates me to get out of bed is a trip to the liquor store. I can't keep living like this. And I can't keep being too much of a pussy to do anything about it. I am completely defeated. I just want to know how to tell a select few people goodbye without letting on that I'm probably going to be dead soon. I'm not writing a note. How do you say goodbye to someone without actually saying it?

I would try to make something up, for example that you're moving out to another country or state and it will allow you to say goodbye at least partially.

If it were me I would just spend some good quality time with them individually. And don't let up that it's a goodbye or somethings "wrong." Just make it so their last memory with you is a happy one they can look back on?

That's the idea. But I want to verbally express how much I care about them. I'm just not the type to do that. So I'm scared by saying anything of the sort its going to be obvious something is off/wrong.

What you're saying is probably my best bet. I guess I just have to not say it at all. Maybe they'll know. Maybe not. Which sucks

You could talk about moving far away even though the reality is far away is being dead. They'll want to spend more time with you and feel like it's a temporary goodbye even though it's more permanent.

I used this strategy and it worked for me but of course I don't know if it will for you. Just another idea that might help.
Best of luck with everything โค๏ธ

Prior to past attempts I would usually send people appreciation paragraphs, detailing all the things I felt needed to be said. If they grew concerned or suspicious, I'd throw a joke in, assure them that I just care about them and felt like I didn't say it enough, and it was done. That might work, rather than faking a move, which would take months or weeks potentially.

It's a good idea. Was going to pick up and move to a different state to relocate just so I could kill myself. But the funds and the farfetched plan for that fell through about a year ago. As far as this goes, I don't want to have to craft an entire narrative. Also probably would seem a bit unbelievably coming from me. I want to be able to tell the closest to the truth without any hints of what I'm going to do

I would still say moving out of the state... but instead of "moving" book a hotel in a state next to you for like 2 nights and CTB.

Even if I was a halfway decent liar I still wouldn't be able to pull this off with a family member. They'd want way more info. I don't want to make up some elaborate lie. Its almost like I need synonyms for saying goodbye but like without them being aware of it. I'm not trying to scheme

Perhaps you could go visit them, tell them you don't think you have long left, and then make your goodbyes. Don't explain more than that, and if they ask you could reply "I don't want to go into the details". They will probably just asume you have a terminal illness of some kind.
