Thanks for sharing this, Wendy. I wouldn't say that she failed – she is free and to me, that's what counts. It's also a lesson we should probably remember - tell no one about our plans.

That's one hell of a story. Being realistic I may have wishes of what's going to happen after my passing but I know that I will of course lose control. that's why I am slowly doing the things that I can now such as distributing the money around. But logically I can't really concern myself with whether my wishes for direct cremation which is the same as I will be requesting will be carried out. If I am in the void then I wont care. I was somewhat intrigued with the amount of N that she took though.
It's also a lesson we should probably remember - tell no one about our plans.

This was interesting and I agree that one should never disclose one's plans on ctb -ever.

Though she did not want a funeral nor autopsy, just a cremation - she also stated that she didn't want her embassy to get involved, which is not possible. Essentially it is internationally agreed upon (formally or not) that, in any country, when a foreigner dies, the embassy of the nationality of the deceased is contacted - regardless.

I'm divided on this mini-documentary: on one hand it seems a bit self indulgent to have someone make a video of one's final days, and on the other hand one cannot help but watch what transpires until the very end. Again, as was stated before, one takeaway is do not disclose your plans to call it quits.

God I long for the day where people can be open about this. Suicide prevention people want us to 'open up' but only if they approve of every single word, otherwise we get locked up 'for our own safety.'

It's the cruelty of life right there. Most people do just move on with their lives, faster than you'd think.

Yet many of us here who don't even know each other in "real life" try to help and support each other, and possibly mourn for each other even more.

I'm a believer that there are other worlds that exist. Some that are probably better. I think a lot of us were just unlucky to be born in this one.

What a lame conclusion from the videomaker. "even after death, she failed..." Nah mate, people failed her, not the other way around. She got what she wanted, to not be there anymore in this fuckery of a world, and the world failed to act accordingly. The police did what the fuck they wanted cause they suck, the friends betrayed her cause they suck, she's not responsible for what happens after her passing. It's the living that are to blame for this failure, not her at all. This pisses me off.

What i took from this - absent, abusive or emotionally unavailale fathers can have a profound impact on yr life (but I knew that already-esp.if both yr mum & step mum are also cruel and narcissistic) - I was sad she still felt the way she did despite having a v.loving mother-but as always-each person has there own unique reasons.
-I feel sad her trust was betrayed by her friends-but agree that its never a good idea to tell anyone
-I really like the fact that she got a signed document from a psychiatrist stating that she was mentally sound & did not suffer from a mental illness-despite her desire to die-which is something I think some people fail to or are simply not willing to comprehend.
-that was alot of bottles of N!
-poor lil doggie. r.i.p also
-So envious she was able to obtain N

The person that said she failed in death was somebody she had a negative interaction with in the past. That was a low and unnecessary thing to say. It was revenge. Low and dirty thing to do.

That is certainly my hope as well.
