Don't hold your breath for it! (pun intended) It has been delayed many times. Last I heard is sometime late this year. But who knows….

Well, it's now Dec 2nd and still no Sarco news….

Sarco – Assisted Suicide Pod

Even if it's first use is this month and successful AFAIK there's only 1 fully functioning pod in the world. It will probably be years before there's a business in place open to the public using Sarcos for "suicide tourism."

The Respiro R2D Rebreather is our best hope for next few years. Hopefully any kinks in it get worked out.

You keep posting about Sarco. Out of interest, are you hopeful that this is going to go mainstream someday? Are you holding out for this instead of other methods? Just curious.

If it works as designed it would be another option people should have. As a method, nitrogen has several advantages.

Well, there's a year end/beginning of new year message at Exit International that says about the Sarco only that it's first use will be in 2024…. They've missed more deadlines than Tesla!

I wonder if this will ever happen. Currently in Switzerland a doctor writes a prescription for sodium pentobarbital, so it's done through a physician, but Sarco would bypass that. I wonder would Swiss society (or other countries) accept that? Being done through a physician kind of makes it acceptable to a lot of people

Reading their website, it's interesting that most of the right-to-die organisation seem to be distancing themselves from Sarco:

"Exit, which offers living wills, counseling and end-of-life care, and is unaffiliated with Dr. Nitschke's similarly named nonprofit, said it does not see Sarco as an alternative to physician-assisted suicide. Another group, Lifecircle, said "there is no human warmth with this method."
Dignitas, a clinic near Zurich, said sodium pentobarbital "is approved and supported by the vast majority of the public and politics." Pegasos Swiss Association said it was in discussion with the Sarco team but wanted further clarification about the device."
