I don't have the link to the article but its in the DailyMailAustralia today
The person using it has not been identified--Its been called the 'TESLA of Euthanasia'--It takes 30 seconds for the Oxygen level to drop from 21% to just 1%, enabling a 'peaceful pain-free death' as Dr Nitchke states

That sounds very fast, to exchange all that existing air to nitrogen in just 30 seconds is quite the feat. The average coffin is around 800-1000 liters of displacement, that would mean the "Tesla pod" would need to both pump and suck air/nitrogen at around 30 liters a second. Which Isn't unreasonable with airpumps and numerous high flow nitrogen valves.

I believe the old one worked solely on replacing the air with nitrogen which extended the procedure quite a lot, like 10-15 min before unconsciousness. This is significantly faster but definitely noisier hearing all that air exchange taking place.

What would you choose?

1. Fast air exchange with unconsciousness taking place within a minute or two

2. Slower pace allowing you to still communicate and have some final thoughts, physical discomfort may appear with this method such as dizziness and headache.

The US should have at least one of these in every state

They might have fitted one way pressure relief valves. That would remove the need for mechanical extraction, but could obviously be a bit risky if any extra N2 was displaced to atmosphere.

I believe the first version used this design, which is why it took 10-15 min to exchange all that air.

The old one was incredible expensive since it was one time use only, wonder how much expensive the new design is.

But then people wouldn't have to blow their brains out anymore and jump off buildings. That cannot be allowed to change.

Recently read it costs around $30,000 euros to print depending on the types of plastic used. Also read that it "will never be sold." Rather, the 3d print plans and files are made available to the Exit Intl's subscribers. No one under 50 is allowed to subscribe but I bet someone would share the plans eventually.

It was thought the original design could double as a "coffin" but they quickly realized multiple-use was much more economically and environmentally friendly and I think that's the use-case they are currently pursuing.

All one needs is a simple bag.

This pod is a nice idea, but it's clearly also a marketing stunt aimed at rich people. As with anything else in life, it's a futile convenience for a high price.

I disagree. I don't see it as a marketing stunt at all. Nitschke has explained that the inspiration for the project was to accommodate those that have limited physical capacity. If I remember correctly, he talks on this here. Not everyone has the ability to carry out the exit bag.

If it's multiple use, then the cost per use would be trivial.
