I can't tie knots with this rope without it being so loose because it's so stiff. What do i do now? I can't just buy another rope..is there any way I can soften it? Can i use oil to make it easier to tie knots?

You can try soaking it in water. You can even add a little fabric softener (don't overdo it). You can also try washing it in a washing machine. Apparently people do it with climbing and sailing ropes if you look it up on Reddit and on forums. If you put it in the washing machine, perhaps put it in mesh laundry bag.

Is the core of the rope made of fiber or steel? You can cut a little piece and see what material it is made of inside.
If it has steel inside it would be better if you bought another one. The ones with the interior made of fiber, are more flexible and manageable.

Steel :/ I don't know what to do now. Is it a huge problem?

Is the same rope shown in the link the one you have? Because that one has a fiber core, not a steel one.

1000121767 The steel core makes the rope less flexible and more difficult to tie knots.
