I'm trying to decide what thickness rope to use when I do my partial hanging. Would a thinner rope (like an 8 mm climbing rope) be better because it would more pressure on the Carotid Arteries and cause unconsciousness faster? I know wider ropes may be more comfortable initially but may not be as effective at closing the carotids. Anyone have opinions on this?

There is a megathread on this which goes into rope choices in great detail.
