• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hi!

What is the best way to remove labels for glass bottles without risking to damage the substance? Obviously I don't wanna boil them or anything, talking sealed bottles here.

You might try scraping them off with a knife/ razor blade. Or a chemical glue remover - if the label is paper it should soak through to the adhesive.
Neither of these should impact the contents.

Interesting so chemical glue remover is something that is easy to get? Heard of vinagre also and tried alcohol but alcohol wasn't that good. I want it to look like it never had a label in the first place and obviously don't wanna bathe it in hot water or anything that puts the bottle in extreme temperature.

Soak a paper towel in water and Windex and press it against the label so it clings to it for several hours (re-wet it as needed). That will we the label through so it is easier to scrape off. Then use more Windex to soak and rub off any remaining adhesive. White vinegar may work in place of Windex. Good luck!

Here in the US there's a product called goo-gone, sold in lots of shops.
There are others too, but I get a sales kick back from goo-gone..heh heh

There's a lot of goo remover style products in supermarkets & hardware stores. In terms of something you may already have, hand sanitiser does an amazing job. So good. The gel style ones that have been everywhere since Covid (not spray mist ones). Cover the whole label, leave for at least 5 minutes, preferably longer & scrape with any flat edged object like a bench scraper or a butter knife or spatula. It works. Good luck.

Sometimes leaving it in cold water for a few hours can do it.

Regular nail polish remover contains acetone or other ingredients that can also dissolve the glue used to attach labels.

Perhaps cold water might be safe yeah. Kinda doubting it will do the trick though these labels are super sticky.

I swear by the hand sanitiser if you have it, just do a test patch. I literally used it on 3 things today
