I live in London, & plan to use Carbon Monoxide in my car (I won't be using the car to kill me).

I obviously wish to choose a location where I'm least likely to be disturbed.

I already have 1 location which I think *should* work, but if anyone has any advice or suggestions considering a place to do it, it would be welcome. Although I don't expect this thread to be very busy.

Yeh, I just don't know where. countryside is usually very small roads amongst very open fields, or very small villages which would notice my car there easily.

the 1 location I already have is 'semi-rural', not miles away from civilisation but quiet and pitch black at night (other than other cars which might pass occasionally)

Hmmmmmm it's very hard to find actual isolated places. I used to try when I was young as a place to go to smoke weed, and invariably we'd always have people drive past or come join us. I even took a young lady out to the countryside once *cough* and we had someone join us there.

If you won't need the car to do it then I would suggest any forested area near you, go there first to explore, and go off the path, try to find somewhere pretty secluded within that, there are usually little pockets you can find. Once you're happy you know you can come back with the gear when you are ready.

A forested area is about the only place in England I can think of to get some privacy, that or go to a hotel etc.

Wouldn't any hotel have a carbon monoxide alarm, in the room or close-by ?

Yes there is a forested area near me, so I guess I could use a tent with carbon monoxide but really it's just luck if no one finds me, as people or dogs go everywhere. & I don't especially want to hang myself after hearing the horror stories.

Hmmmmm, you know I had never considered that. I am not too sure they would though, unless there is a boiler or an open fire in the room then it's not needed. However, yes avoid the hotel as the CO would seep under the door and may make other guests ill, outside is definitely better.

Well you don't need long for CO to kick in do you? I just Googled it and high levels can kill in 5 minutes, If you can get out there in a tent at night then you should be ok not being found until morning? Just go after say 9 and hopefully all the dog walkers will have left by then.

Or could you rent a garage for a week? Park your car up in that and fill it full of CO? Put a note on your back window in massive letters warning people there might be CO around, but hopefully by that point it will have dispersed.

Or a camp site, they should be pretty empty right now, take a tent, go to the far corner away from everyone and do it at night?

None of these are ideal I know, but it's hard to advise in areas I don't know. Getting an ordnance survey map might help, then you can see the public footpaths through farmer's land, if you find a good spot there then you might be able to camp for the night without trouble. I camped in a farmer's field once when we were drinking out near a bridge as kids.

I couldn't say for certain but some of the roads through Wimbledon Common are very quiet.

If it must be your last ride - if you like driving - go North. Scotland...

This is my problem too. Even in "remote/secluded" areas they are all over the place like a bad rash. :/

People will notice that I've got missing LONG before I actually get the chance to kill myself, and knowing my luck I'll be found before with no explanation but admitting what I was going to do. Even in the North/Scotland, it is not guaranteed that I won't be found.

Been looking for places myself and its harder than you think to find the ideal spot especially as doing charcoal right takes a bit of time to set up.
