• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

[Sorry, English isn't my mother tongue so sorry for possible grammar faults.]

I've seen many people describing jumping as one of the worst CTB methods. They think so because it's described by many survivors that they regretted it directly from the moment they let go off the ledge.
Therefore many people rather considering go with hanging.

But I don't get it at all. When you jump, it only take some seconds before you're down, then you are done. But when you are doing full suspension hanging, you can be conscious for some seconds up to minutes. I guess you would regret it kind of immediately as well. Wouldn't that be worse?

Tell me you opinions about it.

I am guessing our survival instinct is much stronger with falling from a great height compared to hanging as falling would probably be seen as a more common danger to past humans than not being able to breathe cus of pressure being put onto arteries. if someone is falling they will be conscious until they hit the ground which is where people plan to die when with hanging they will lose conscious before eventually dying. Also maybe the less oxygen going to the brain when hanging means you are less aware of what's happening and so is less scary?

I recommend going to the highest spot you can and looking down. It's pretty daunting for most people even without a proper phobia. I doubt there's much difference post jump when compared to hanging, but specifically jumping to begin with is its own hurdle.

I've been scouting for cliffs to jump off over the last few weeks, as I was looking for an 'accidental' way to ctb, and looking down is indeed quite scary. As it has been said many times, SI is very strong when deciding to jump and the fear of failing is even worse in my opinion.

Never really considered full suspension so I can't tell, but again, the thought of failing it would scare me AF.

Falling is a common nightmare. Humans generally dislike it.
Full suspension knocks you out in 3 to 10 seconds. To be conscious for a minute you really need to screw it up!

I can understand what you mean. But still it would be pretty terrifying to be out of breath strangling.

But does it matter that much really, you will die anyway hopefully in both ways.

I've been thinking several times to kind of slip down by accident when walking/running on the ledge. I've lately been standing on the ledge of a 7th story building. Actually I didn't feel in that bad actually. Why I didn't jump? 7 story building isn't high enough for me and it was all to crowdy in the area.

I'm also really afraid of failing when hanging. I still think there are to many ways it can go wrong.

I don't think you have sufficient time to rationally or emotionally digest any feeling of regret between the time you jump and when you hit the ground. It's far too quick and your senses will be completely overwhelmed. Unless you're in a state of either psychosis or Nirvana, I think it's safe to say it's probably not pleasant. What I would imagine is that, in light of what can only be a terrible set of consequences resulting from a failed attempt, our mind fills in that gap with a feeling of regret in our memory. Jumping is a bad method in the sense that the consequences for failure are guaranteed to be dreadful and permanent, and far too many people don't pick a site that's nearly high enough.

I thought I'd be scared of choking but I asked the last guy I was with to choke me and it felt pretty darn good.

I guess it depends from how high you jump. I mean jumping from like 6-7 stories wouldn't give you much time but jumping from higher than that might feel like forever. Im scared of heights so I'd have to pushed or thrown. I reckon driving off a pier or cliff would be better.
