How do you tell the difference between a fake therapist and one that actually truly cares?
I've had so many therapists in the past and they have all been bull shit. You sit there while
they stare at you and they just repeat themselves over and over again. I swear they write a
script down before every session so it makes them look like they know what they're doing.
I haven't met one that seems like they genuinely care about me and what I have to say.
So are they all fake? Do they actually show concern? who knows

They are the definition of fake people. Their job is basically to be whatever they think will help you "recover".
The person they show you in that room is not the person they are. The more professional they are, the less personal and genuine they will be with you. They have learned from their advisors that letting down their own barriers-while knocking down yours-is a slippery slope.

The best you will get from them in authenticity is more likely to be negative-or inappropriate-feelings toward a client that they neglected to filter. It is their job, they are not anyone's friend. And if they cross that line, they won't have said job.

You tell them right at the beginning of your first session together that you are considering suicide . On the second session you check if they have stopped taking notes of what you say. Considering as in something you are thinking of sometime in the future. Its important to convey that its not something inminent or that you have already figured out.

By the end of the first session you should have make your case for suicide. If they are understanding they are going to stop taking notes to protect themselves. In the following sessions they are obviously going to try to evaluate if depression is clouding your judgement, which is in my opinion a good thing.

Its a high risk low reward strategy so that something you really need to take into account.
