A real work of art. One of, if not my favorite, games of all time. Link to the steam page for Rain World.
Saw another thread by a user named "Namelesa" on this wonderful video game a week or so ago, but that thread got deleted because it was in the Suicide Discussion forum instead of offtopic, so I'm making this thread again in the hopes of them commenting on it. I really love the game and would love to discuss it with them, hopefully. If anyone knows them, please shoot them a private message if you can to let them know I would love to talk about it. Whoever's reading this, I wish you well.
As for any other readers of this thread: about Rain World.
Fascinating video game, a real special experience of survival and exploration, that is engaging without compromising it's artistic vision.
I highly recommend anyone who's alright with indie games, and with exploration-style platformers, to give it a shot. It's wonderful, really, for anyone who's willing to get through it. It's rough sometimes, but it's beautiful and fascinating enough to make it all worth it.
And the lore is quite minimalist, yet profound as well.
In the game, you find colored pearls scattered throughout the world; which, like many things in the game, appear obscure at first, but have some higher purpose originally intended in mind.
If you're too curious and feel like you'd read the lore before playing--I would see this wiki page. (Pearl Dialogue, Rain World Wiki). I can't stress enough how much I recommend playing the game completely blind first, and experiencing it all the way to the end first, but this lore wiki page is there for those who are curious about it! Feel free to check it out if you're curious. I hope you like it.

Players assume control of a "slugcat", an elongated felid-like rodent, and are tasked with survival in a derelict and hostile world.
The game features a simulated ecosystem. The slugcat uses debris as weapons to escape predators, scavenges for food, and tries to reach safe hibernation rooms before the deadly torrential rain arrives. The game's developers intended to give players little explicit guidance on how to survive so that they would feel like "A rat living on subway tracks," learning to survive in an environment without understanding its higher-level function.
