Do you have some favourite quotes or honest blog post about suicide or someone who commited suicide and you think about it sometimes?

People from all walks of life have been Exit Members. Many have used their experiences to speak out for voluntary euthanasia/ assisted suicide law reform.
exitinternational.net/about-exit/exit-remembers/

The ones that I specifically remember are
Angelique Flowers - very sad death
Lisette Nigot - (Made a movie about euthanasia, changed the way I thought about suicide.)
Nancy Crick - Brought all her friends and family for her suicide.

The suicide note by Jean Eustache was (left at the door of the hotel room): "Knock loudly to wake the dead". Idol.

I've posted this before, but I'm gonna post it again because this blog is just so memorable to me.

The Fiercest Invalid

This blog is written by someone (Zoe Hyra) who detailed her thoughts prior to and on the day of her suicide. In her own words, "The following is a collection of journal entries and personal reflections assembled over the final days of my life."

What really astonished me about Zoe is how determined and unwavering she was in her desire to die. Her last blog entry, where she said her final goodbye, was posted November 20, 2017, the very same day she committed suicide. She went through with her plan with no hesitation, not hindered by survival instinct whatsoever.

Anyway, her blog is incredible; Zoe is very poetic, and articulates her thoughts beautifully. Reading through her journey, about her hatred for herself, her constant pain, and, perhaps the saddest, her overwhelming love for her family and friends, really stuck with me for a long time. Hell, I first came across this blog in December 2017, and I still think back on it from time to time. It's a very powerful read, especially to someone who shares her feelings.

You only have power over people so long as you don't take everything away from them. But when you've robbed a man of everything, he's no longer in your power - he's free again.

So true. When people have nothing to loose they have nothing to fear. Not even death.

Thank you for telling me about Zoë Hyra's blog, Abel. I agree with you. How did you first come across the blog?

I'm not who you directed your question but I wanted to make an account to reply. I discovered the site through this thread actually. I knew Zoë very briefly in college, just before and when she committed suicide we shared a class together. She left a serious impression on me. She was beautiful, extremely intelligent, but obviously in pain (from the perspective of someone who knows what pain looks like, though at the time I was a bit naive and looking back I see more clearly). I can't say I have a lot to say. She has an Instagram account under her name, you can see her artwork and photos there. I wish I could've gotten to know her better before she died, but regardless I am glad we met. It was her death that had me googling her name, which I came upon her blog. It intrigues me how her family and friends seemingly didn't see it coming, since she was clearly public about it online, even going by her true name.
