The only available method i currently have is hanging. I have a noose untouched since august. i'm scared to use it because last time i tried to hang myself and didn't pass out. i was suffocated for like 30 secs. it was scary. but it was full suspension. Is partial suspension easier than full suspension? Is it painful to partially hang yourself? Will you feel like you suffocate yourself? How long before you go unconscious? Is being unconscious scary?

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it shouldn't be painful (though do expect some discomfort, you will be dying, after all) if the noose is pressing the carotid arteries rather than the trachea (windpipe). If the arteries are properly blocked, you will faint in less than a minute due to your brain not receiving enough oxygen. If the arteries are not properly blocked and the trachea is being pressed, then yes, you will suffocate. You will die either way, but naturally fainting is preferred over suffocating.

Can you show me how to properly hang yourself?

I can't because my knowledge is limited and I don't want to give you wrong information. I am sure other members of the forum can help you, however.

How did you escape the full suspension?

Hanging partial or full is done quickest by closing the carotid arteries in your neck that is what makes you pass out in seconds. If you see a ufc fighter choke someone out they don't suffocate them they block those arteries and they pass out in seconds. The thing with full suspension is that it can easily go wrong where you suffocate slowly and if there is no way to get off it will be very unpleasant. Partial is the best way to make sure you don't suffer on your way out. So the best way is to block the carotid arteries it would be over in less than 10 seconds.

Okay, so this only is for partial suspension, which works by blocking the carotids.

You tie a noose around your neck with anything that doesn't stretch - that last part is important. Use a slipknot, so that the noose doesn't loosen up when the weight of your head presses on it. Then, you tie the other end of the fabric that you are using to the support that you're using. With that setup, you put your head into the noose, tighten it around your neck to the point of slight discomfort, and then lean into it. Within anywhere between 5-30 seconds, you should lose consciousness (or come close, at least). After 15 minutes of being suspended like this, you'll be dead. Convulsions are likely to happen when you use this method (about 7-10 minutes after suspension), so if you do end up using this method, keep that in mind. The reason the method is popular is because you won't be conscious while dying.

Here's a thread for more detailed and comprehensive info.

You would think full suspension blocks the arteries too so why not a quick pass out from it?

Full suspension mainly works by blocking the windpipe. That's why people use partial. Not choking to death is a pretty good idea (in terms of peacefulness).

It takes time to find the exact spot to block the carotids. Also, full suspension WILL block the windpipe because of the greater pressure on the neck.

Hmmm..i that placing the moose up higher on neck would avoid the windpipe. It makes sense about the stronger pressure being a factor though.

The pressure of the body's weight is so strong that the wind pipe is blocked either way. The trick is to lose consciousness before that happen, and it is a lot easier (supposedly) in partial suspension. I say supposedly because I never tried full suspension, nor I intend to.

Yeah and there's really no way to lose consciousness before doing full suspension.

Well... Maybe. What would happen if one had the rope around their neck, everything prepared, and they took a load of sleeping medication? Would the body dropping as they fall asleep automatically wake them up? It is not the same as losing consciousness altogether, of course, but still. All in all, I think partial suspension is more reliable if one is really concerned about losing consciousness by blocking the oxygen flow towards the brain instead of... Well, chocking to death.

That seems like a good plan with the sleeping pills.

Would the windpipe be blocked during partial suspension? I thought that partial suspension merely narrows the windpipe, instead of blocking it.

To be honest, I mostly assumed that due to the body weight, eventually the windpipe would be blocked. It doesn't really matter though, since if you did it right, you will have lost consciousness and if you did it wrong, well you can just stand up :P
