Because this is the only place where I can find honesty, can anyone tell me what OTC meds can cause death? Thanks

They all suck... most of them induce extreme nausea or paralysis and instead of killing you damage and shut off your organs

Sadly nothing will work except as maybe as a one in a million shot- almost all overdoes attempts by meds fail- the success rate in the U.S. is less than 2% for attempts by meds- and the ones that do work are usually opioids such as fentanyl. There are lots of posts of people taking huge doses that were supposed to be lethal but didn't work, though this will often lead to involuntary hospitalization.

Of course those meds are prescription and are controlled prescriuption meds, so they are not easy to get, but they should work if you can get a large enough quantity- fentanyl possession is illegal in the u.s. if not prescribed, and you will go to jail for this if caught, so that makes it tougher.

Thank you. I was wondering about carbon monoxide. I've done some research and it seems pretty permanent. I don't want to take something or do something that leaves me a vegetable. I want it done right the first time (I tried when I was a teenager - ate over 1,000 aspirin - lost my sight and hearing for a week - that was about it). I need something permanent.

All methods have plusses and minuses- we should not push people in a certain direction, only support them and their right to make whatever choice works best for them. One good place to start seeing what is practical to work is to search on the internet by "lethality of suicide methods" and then consider the risks of what if it doesn't work. For example firearms have the highest lethality, some say 80%, but they also have the highest risk of very bad outcomes if it doesn't work- many people blow off most of their faces and survive- a lot of these people have posted on youtube- you can see thier videos, they are terrifying. For me the downside risks are way too high with this method. So you would need some time to research methods and decide, which is no great comfort to someone who wants to end their pain asap. In the U.S. anout 1 in 30 suicide attempts works, so this research is important- a high percentage of failed attempts come from attempted drug overdoses or by cutting, both of which work less than 2% of the time and often end in involuntary hospitalizations, which most people really dislike a lot. Research is the key- each person needs to make their own choices.

Thank you so much for your kindness and patience. I will do more research. I knew someone who tried with a gun and he survived. NOT for me. I want a sure thing. Again, thank you.
