Question to ask

I'm planning i could hang myself with bodyweight. I think it's called suspension hanging. I'm thinking to take 700mg of valium or diazepam or whatever it is called plus loads of alcohol when i have the rope around my neck tightly as i'm standing. Then I would drink my booze, wait the meds and alcohol do their job and slowly set into unconciousness and let the rope finish it. Is this absurd plan or does it have potential?

Someone mentioned in here about drinking and hanging. If you get drunk you might not place the rope on your neck correctly.

The question to your question is how long will it take before those meds and alcohol take effect? Will you get tired of standing and waiting? Will it affect you quickly or slowly?

IMO, you're better off to just go with it. When you're drunk, you'll do stupid shit. I know this from experience.

Until someone tells me otherwise (please do) I am an advocate of tourniquet over hanging. I'd even say it can be in the top 3 for everyone. My experience linked here. I'd link others but until someone gives the link, I don't have any anecdotes to provide so until then I can only offer mine.

I feel like the tourniquet method should be stickied in those 'resources' posts or something of the like. As my post indicates, it seems VERY effective initially. After some digging from the various 'resources' posts, I was able to find 1 site the provided pictures of people who died via tourniquet method (if I remember, I'll search and link). I'll have to check again to see if it's mentioned but it does not appear anything special was needed nor was there need for any complicated preparation/setup.
You can buy your CTB for <$25 (if the linked is no longer available, the other options after shipping/tax are about $20) if you're lazy like me.

If you take the precaution I detailed (handcuffs), I cannot conceive of any way this fails. Obviously the chances of it failing are sizable if you're doing this in your room/hotel room so it's up to the person find a place that is reasonably secluded.

Hmmmm nice, I had missed your post so thank you for this bit of shameful advertising, lol. I tried a zip tie when I was 13, but that failed due to being interrupted, and probably would have failed anyway. This is like a much more robust version of what I had in mind, hanging without the need for suspension so you can do it anywhere.

Thank you! I will keep this as my backup method if people get wind of what I am up to and try to stop me etc and I need a quick out (my backup currently is full suspension hanging).

oh! Well I can certainly relate to self-loathing. I'm sorry you have to carry that around too. I know from experience that it's a heavy burden. I hope you can find a way to escape the prison that is hatred of the self. It's a terrible place to be. Peace

Going to buy handcuffs and do this valium alcohol standing combination. When the handcuffs have been put on there is no way to retract. If someone finds me before i pass out it will be degrading. I have failed suicide attempt in the past and lost the functionality of half of my left leg permanently so i hope this won't end as shitty than that.(or more shitty)
