Help Question regarding starvation as a method.

I have read that one can be afflicted with Wernickes Encephalopathy by attempting this method outside from the much longer process of Sallekhana. Is it possible to avoid Wernickes Encephalopathy and die peacefully if you simply take Vitamin B1 during the fast? Two years ago I water fasted for 36 days to lose weight and I was fine.
