Question: Loss of Money and Suicide - Forex / Stocks / Gambling / CryptoCurrencies

Everyone's reason for wanting to die are personal. Chronic pain, depression, anxiety, terminal illness.

My Question: How many people are contemplating suicide due to loss of significant amount of money from trading?

Interesting question. There's more discussion going on right now about suicides caused by actual life events and not just mental illness. Gambling losses, divorces, DUIs, etc. It's an epidemic with NY cab drivers. They had to invest hundreds of thousands in their taxi medallions, and then Uber came in and bankrupted them. Same thing happened during the Depression, though I don't think traders were literally jumping out of windows (in large numbers). I don't know about crypto specifically, but if you (a) lost millions and (b) now have to live on a boat 13 miles off the coast of Vietnam, ctb might make sense.

It definitely happens. It's been a thing since the Great Depression. I've read about traders jumping out of buildings on Black Tuesday when the 1929 crash happened. Probably been happening since tulip mania.

not exactly but I am now broke and suicidal, one year ago I had much more money, I think the depression was always there, money does a good job at masking it though.

Can you share please how? I do have money but it doesn't make me happy. I thought even to buy a sports car or motorcycle and do a trip around US this summer, but then I ask myself "What's the point?", there is nothing that would make me feel better.

Not trading but I am foolish with money. I have issues with gambling. I had thousands saved but blew it all right before Christmas. Depression and being isolated its easily done and I've done it before. I just cause myself more pain by losing control.

If ur foolish with money and have issues with gambling I wonder what they call whatever is past that cuz I'm probably that X10. And I also messed up Christmas bcuz of gambling. And yes isolated urself only gives u more time to gamble and mess up some more

Ive been as bad with it as possible because currently I'm overdrawn at the bank. I dont see much problem if you know your limits but some of us are just very compulsive. It didn't matter how much I'd won up because the next day or even hours later it would be all gone again.

To me, any depression goes away once you've reached 300k in cash. Having 500k is phenomenal. 700k+ is stratosphere.

Exactly no matter what is won I will lose it back probably within the week. Don't feel bad about overdrawn account. I over on about 4 of them. And late on everything.
