I dont think ctb is easy, I think most people would prefer they weren't in a situation which made them feel they wanted to ctb.

I feel like people who say that are saying it out of ignorance , lack of compassion, understanding.

I mean , I don't necessarily think it's the easy way out because it takes a lot to want to CTB.

I mean....I don't know everyone's situation is different. I don't think it's fair to say that really.

Absolutely not. It may seem like that for an outsider looking at a surface level of your struggles and what you went through to finally succeed in leaving.

Just wanting some peace

I wish it is straightforward to be gone, it just feels so cruel to me how it isn't and the suffering just continues instead, all I hope and wish for is to never suffer in this existence again. There's so much cruelty in how I cannot just have the option to simply die in a painless way to escape from an existence I always saw as so futile and torturous, I'd never wish for existence rather I only hope for the peace of an eternal, dreamless sleep where there is no more suffering and all is finally gone for me.

I think it is very difficult- we are programmed against it even just physically; I wanted to die and sometimes still want to but my attempt failed cause my body fought me back.

By far not the easy way out. Same as they say it's selfish. Choosing to end an unbearable emotional or physical pain is not selfish. By definition (selfish) we gain nothing 'in the end' by doing so. "It is, in many ways, the ultimate state of burnout." For some people, knowing the hurt and anger we're leaving behind is almost as painful as staying. If it were easy no one would hesitate.

I don't see it being the easy way out because one would have to deal with nearly insurmountable hurdles, which include overcoming one's own SI (survival instinct, self-preservation instincts), acquiring a reliable method with high chance of success, executing said method successfully (the risk of failure or botched attempts would leave one in an even worse state than before), and of course, with all the pressures of society, normies, and various people in power (authority figures and such) conspiring to impede and frustrate one's plans and acquisition of method to CTB.

sudden death is the easiest way out, you'll need no method, no prep, no SI

I guess we won't know until we try. I hope it is... How can anyone truly know though? They don't know whether an attempt will work and be relativey quick and peaceful. They don't know whether they'll win the lottery next week if they decide to live.

Besides that- who truly looks for the hardest path in life and charges straight for it? Most people I would say try to settle for the path of least resistance. Not pursuing your goal of becoming a famous footballer, rock star or astronaut (assuming you don't have the talent for it) is 'taking the easy way out'. They'll see that as being practical and sensible though. What then is so illogical about someone who suffers everyday, has tried all sorts to reduce their suffering to no avail- deciding they've had enough?

people who think CTB is the easy way out…

I think they should take a second to imagine how it feels to actually kill themselves. The entire process, finding a method, mentally saying goodbye to their life, executing the method.

It would probably scare them to death (no pun intended). Then they should think about how people must feel to consider such a thing that is against our most fundamental nature.

Maybe then, they will slightly understand, suicide is not the easy way out. It's the only way out, or at least that's what it truly seems like

I've gone through an incredible amount of suffering in my life. If someone told me this, it would honestly start a nasty verbal fight.

I hate scolding people, but someone who says something that entitled needs a reality check.

If you read the angst-filled post of people gearing up for the big event, you would see this is probably the hardest thing anyone will do willingly.

I can imagine how difficult CTB can be for those who claim that it's difficult, but I disagree that it's necessarily hard for everyone. Whether something is easy or not for a person depends on the person's traits, and CTB is not an exception. For some people CTB may be very easy, for others it may be very hard. I've seen enough CTB videos where people seem to act confidently without visible hesitation.

I guess that many people have troubles with CTB simply because of the lack of faith in their choice and their abilities to go through the process. Thinking of CTB as something difficult to do is likely what makes it harder to do eventually. And vice versa, if you believe that CTB is easy for you, your confidence can make it easier.

Thinking that CTB is difficult is likely disadvantageous, since pessimistic estimations can trigger or increase anxiety and determine how quickly you give up.

If it was the easy way, I'd be long gone by now. I personally am finding it to be one of the most difficult things to do in my entire life (all 60 years of it). Anyone that successfully CTB has my deepest respect for their courage. The had far more strength than I. Imho

It depends what you mean by the easy way out I guess. If the alternative is living until we die a natural death at 90 or something like everyone else, or ctb, then anyone who chooses ctb is probably choosing it because to them it seems easier than that alternative. I suppose that makes it the easy way out, defined like that.
