#1 - absolutely not.
Ingredients: sodium chloride (NaCl), sodium nitrite (E250), anti-caking agent (E536)

#2 - almost certainly not
Saltpetre
is "any of three naturally occurring nitrates, distinguished as (1) ordinary saltpetre, or potassium nitrate, KNO3; (2) Chile saltpetre, cubic nitre, or sodium nitrate, NaNO3; and (3) lime saltpetre, wall saltpetre, or calcium nitrate, Ca(NO3)2"

When actually used in curing, sn is usually just one of multiple chemicals in a mixture - anything like this would be a waste of time, money, and an unpleasant experience.

someone else is saying that it looks absolutely like they're not proper SN - is this the case?

It's becoming harder to find everywhere. Eastern Europe and India seem to still have readily available cheap domestic-only options, but western Europe and NA is drying up - based on what I am reading from others. Not sure about other regions of the world.

In any case, you'd need it to be over 95% pure, iirc. Nor sure where in the world you are but it'll be more or less of a challenge accordingly.
