Question about hiding my SN

I ordered SN recently. The bottle should contain 120 grams, which is much more than what I need. I'm thinking about extracting 15-25 grams of SN, putting it in a plastic ziplock bag, and then disposing of the bottle.
The reason for this is because months ago, I ordered a bottle of SN but my bf discovered it and threw it away. I don't want to risk getting caught with a bottle of SN again. It would be much easier to hide a small plastic bag with a smaller amount of the substance than the whole bottle.
Would this be practical? I don't have any immediate plans to ctb. I want to have the option open in case shit goes downhill. I'm worried if I make the final decision to ctb months from now, the brief exposure to air will have degraded the quality of the SN, leading to a failed attempt.

I'm not an expert on this matter and I haven't read enough to even be commenting on this frankly, but it seems to me logically that exposure to air won't harm its quality. It's salt form, it's not like N(I'm guessing) it's used on meat and meat is exposed to air and the SN still works on it as intended. Plus it would have to be exposed to air anyway when we have to open it to get the amount needed to put it in a cup of water, and then the solution of SN in water is also exposed to air. Plus I did read some things about SN as I also am choosing this method and nowhere was it mention about not exposing it to air. I think it just needs to be stored in a dry place, basically like ordinary salt.

SN oxidizes when it comes in contact with air. It will slowly turn into Sodium Nitrate (NaNO2 -> NaNO3). How long this takes I'm not sure, but if you want to be on the safe side, you ought to keep it in the original packaging for as long as possible.

I never even took mine out of the envelope it came in, and I have it stashed in a pocket in old clothes in a backpack in a closet. Maybe that can give some idea

I wouldn't expect it to deteriorate in the couple of seconds you're talking about, @ScorpiusDragon. I'd stash 50-60g though, since I intend to make at least two batches to drink in case I throw up the first one.

Instead of stashing only 25 grams, split the 120 grams into five samples and hide them in five different places.

Now regarding contact of SN with air, I also don't know for sure how long it takes for it to oxidize into nitrate, but I expect it to take a long time to happen. I bought my SN from a chemical supplier, 1 Kilogram bottle, and it has an expiration date (01/14/2025) of six years after the manufacture date (01/14/2019).
