Put to sleep

Why are pets put to sleep to end there pain but humans aren't allowed to be put too sleep.

because we somehow forgot that people are animals too. If we wouldn't think of ourselves as being more important or higher beings than animals, maybe we would be allowed to be put to sleep as well

because society thinks that we can be helped. doctors with inflated egos. religious people. friends. family. they all think they have the special recipe to save us. because they cannot accept that we realise before them that at some point you can say enough. they all watch the movie until the end because they paid the ticket. well i paid the ticket but I am not interested in the credits. What I saw is enough, I can already imagine the ending and I do not like it. Better to leave the cinema.

I think that it's because of peoples delusional beliefs in regards to the cruel reality of existence. Many people live under this delusion that all life is worth living and that life has value. By seeing suicide as a valid and acceptable option they would have to come to terms with the fact that life could get that awful for them to the point of considering suicide and this would shatter their delusional worldview. I believe that wanting suicide can be perfectly rational in a world like this, wanting suicide is seeing the world for what it really is. Non suicidal people simply don't understand as they are not suicidal themselves, we all experience life differently after all.

I also think that euthanasia isn't legal because the society needs workers so therefore they need people to stay alive. There are so many people trapped in low quality lives who would likely choose suicide if that option was there for them to pass away in a peaceful and reliable way.

But I think it's unfair how animals can get euthanasia and we cannot. Dying would solve all problems in which there was never a need for in the first place. Non existence is ideal as it's the absence of all suffering.

well most religions tell you that if life becomes awful it is a trial of god, that you must endure and you will receive your prize in the afterlife. it is all based on suffering for the sake of suffering. lot of people are not happy with their life, they want to keep living it? fine, by all means go ahead but also understand that there are people have a different view.

Suicide used to be looked at as a crime. And in some cultures still is. Now we are just treated because it's mental illness. My last stay in a psych ward there were many people that answered "yes" to do you want to kill yourself. They were not let go, instead sent to "residential" to live as a prisoner for 30-60 more days. Is it going to cure them of wanting to die? Hell no. Just gives them more time to think about it. But the insurance companies pay so…
