sure, prozac and other anti-depressants DO make u feel better. but this is temporary. soon enough, u have 2 get off them. it's inevitable. and once u do, the withdrawals kick in and they r STRONG. it comes like a punch 2 the face and u will wish u had never taken anti-depressants in the first place because u were so much happier b4. anti-depressants change u and u develop an emotional dependency 2 them. it's an addiction and it has withdrawals. it's a bitch 2 deal with. depression is something hard 2 deal with, but if not dealt with naturally, (without meds and such), u have no chance.

Yeah its like with them you postpone the problem to a later moment. Which could be life saving at that time. But later on your again fucked or even worse.

I never knew Prozac withdrawals being that bad, I just get headshakes, then again Prozac isn't suppose to be used as a permanent solution because it wears off

I think the effects can differ greatly from person to person, as well as the effects of withdrawing. I'm sorry withdrawing from Prozac was so damaging for you.

I've gone on and off of it (as well as many other psych meds) over the years and have not experienced what you have, however I'm now at the point where meds aren't helpful at all. I've taken just about every antidepressant and am on the max dosage of 2 antidepressants right now.

Do they make you feel better? The only thing they ever gave me was a feeling of extreme hangover waling up the next day at 2pm.

It's a dependence, not addiction. You ain't gettin high off that shit. But yeah SSRI/SNRI/SSNRI are all problematic to get off.

Prozac is the only one I have been able to discontinue without severe withdrawal. Effexor, Lexapro and some others wreaked havoc on me. It's so weird how it's different for everyone.

Must be different for everyone who takes anti-depressants. I was taking 40mg and my hands were seizing up and I was shaking a lot. I must have overdosed on serotonin for my body. I stick with 30mg now, and they are okay. Put it this way, I would rather be on them than not.

I was on a different one but if I forgot to take it the night before I would have headaches, dizziness and feel faint all day. I got really fed up and stopped taking it and had the withdrawals but I was still as depressed as I was before so I didn't feel like they were working. Now I'm on prozac and it maybe helps a little but still not very much
