Propanolol Question quickly help!

I, so while getting my meto (Yes! Celebrate with me) I realized I could easily get Propanolol (which I was gonna try for at some point but probably skip)- she wrote it no questions, but it was extended release- i messaged back and asked for a non extended release because that's what I took for migraines before (the migraines are true, but I never took that)

Yes I know about the search bar but I can't find an answer about Propanolol dosages (btw I'm talking about SN usage) I just want to give her a believable answer; she's actually been really nice and I've been back and forth and I only have 45 minutes left that she can talk with me-



This is what she wants to know. She knows I was "taking it for migraines".

I usually take 40mg... 20mg to 80mg are common doses. The effects are short lived (4 hours) so 2-3 times a day would be plausible.

So saying I took 20mg twice a day is a safe bet? I don't know how much I'll take that night like I said I'll need to dig the forums more when I have the time but I need an ASAP answer. Thank you again

It seems to me that there has not been a consensus reached among forum members regarding Propranolol dosage. The PPH recommends taking 2 gm, which is 2000 mg which is also the overdose threshold. From what I have read in Wikipedia, Propanolol has "strong membrane stabilizing activity" but only at that overdose level. However, I do not know if this is why the OD level dose is recommended, or if it is some sort of mistake in the PPH. Otherwise, taking 40 mg to 80 mg an hour before drinking SN would be safe, I just don't know how effective. I have decided against using it because of the unknowns here. Good luck.

I would say go with 40mg three times to be safe. That's what I told the online pharmacist when I ordered them (for anxiety and SN method, not migraines).

Edit: Lol! I didn't tell the pharmacist it was for the SN method ofc, I told them I had high BP. Honestly, if your dose is somehow wrong they will let you know. You could ask if they would recommend another dose instead.

Yeah I don't intend on any OD attempt but it's so commonly used and I got the chance to get it and a script waiting for me (even tho I'm changing it) for a 4 dollar copay of course I'm going to grab it.

Good point. I just want to grab them while I have the chance. I'll say I took 20mg 3 times a day. :) not even saying I'll use them but why not. And shit, see if it actually does anything for anxiety while I'm at it lol thanks to anyone who replied

I would take between 80mg and 2g of Propanolol (lol I know), ~25g SN, 30mg of domperidone (over the course of 3-4 days 10mg every 8 hours), some weird benzoid or benzo like drug I can't remember which someone once gave me (which supposedly isn't a benzo but the effects are the same) and ibuprofen.

Or alternatively meto and N, followed by a big gulp of Port.

Thanks. No don't worry its a prescription pill, I read up on it. It came from a friend who got it from the pharmacy. Just can't remember the name right now.

I take 120mg propranolol for anxiety, if that helps. It was raised from 80mg.

With the anxiety? It does, but only physical symptoms of it. You still have the worry thoughts, just you feel calmer with them. If that makes sense. I prefer Ativan, but my psychiatrist doesn't prescribe benzos.

I was taking 160mg (80mg bid) it kept me pretty mellow, tired, but mellow... but now I can only take it once because my extremities were tingling quite a bit/really low BP, so watch for that. If you plan on taking it on a normal basis. I see people mentioning Seroquel a lot for the regimen, it blocks adrenaline/serotonin and keeps the brain less excited. It's easy to get as well for sleep at 25-50mg. Stay AWAY from 800mg... holy shit that drug is strong.
