Just looked it up. What a beautiful place! Now I'm considering it too. I guess in the winter the chance of survival must be even lower.

I am surpised to see just how few deaths there are here...does this indicate the good quality of life in Norway/ relative happiness statistics. On u tube there is a video of a gymnast doing a handstand right on the edge...it literally makes me feel sick to watch! Beautiful view though, thats for sure.

The one you mentioned I believe is Trolltunga, and it takes 10 hours to get there on foot and there's always tourists around (I've been there). I bet the same goes for that place, except it's not like Beachy Head where you've got a fairly long stretch of cliffs you can jump from, it's just a rock jutting out, easy to spot, probaby hard to get to and/or crowded if all the excursions I've had in the fjords are anything to go by.

For sure, but overcoming SI for jumping is hard enough without dozens of tourists staring/screaming at you. Such a shame, though, I wouldn't mind going out in such a beautiful place...

Just read that around 200.000 people a year walk the Preikestolen trail. If you can make it there 5 or 6 in the morning don't think it'll be too busy. If you can hold out for that long I would do summertime though, days are getting very short now and it'll be pretty damn cold

Oh wow. I just came back from Gjøvik in Norway and I didn't even know about that cliff. If I did, I would've jumped.

Jumping ones always amaze me (not sure if that is the right word to use-but you know what I mean) prob because I'm scared of heights - but I think a high percentage of the population are- as its a natural human response I guess-also it strange I should this way as I am equally scared of other methods at the end of the day. I went to Beachy head and looked into the abyss- but to no avail- strangely when yr there it almost seems not quite high enough some how.
