Help posted without my consent

as title says, just as ive started to feel better about myself and being able to go out without worrying about my looks; someone from a discord server im in posted me on 4chan without my consent (my full face) pretending to be me, i read the comments and they said the most awful things about me. theyve apologized a shit ton of times but at the end of the day i didnt consent. ive already reported the post, its already been too long so the thread cant be deleted. does anyone know what i can do?

Frankly you have to live with it. In theory there is Rule 4, which forbids doxing, but it will be a good hassle to prove that this actually you and you actually get rid of the picture. This thread will be gone soon (depending on the board it's posted on earlier or later), so you won't get any unpleasant comments, but you won't get rid of the picture, it is saved in all the various archives like archive.moe or desuarchive and those are again saved on the Internet Archive.

You should be aware of the Streisand effect, which just means that in your endeavor to get rid of certain pieces of information, you will probably just draw more attention to your thread and image respectively. As of now it's merely some mean comments by anonymous people and this attention you get, will be gone soon, but if you actually engage in an attempt to censor it, it will probably just lead to you getting into more trouble. The same applies for trying to post in this thread.

OP the Streisand effect is a very real phenomenon. i dont wanna come off as "just get over it" but as @brain-fog said your attempts to cover it up will result in more eyes on it. i do realise i am not helping your situation by replying to this post but i request anyone reading this to not comment further to this thread.

thankfully the post didnt gain much traction (or maybe it did, op keeps deleting recent comments in hopes that it will make what he did any better). right now its on page 7 so hopefully it will expire soon.

It was more of a joke unless they would go unharmed from it. But 4chan is like a pit of cockroaches, so you shouldn't worry about what they say about your image. :)

4chan is full of nazi scum and, more importantly, just plain edgelord teenagers. They insult people no matter what they look like, even if they actually ARE attractive.

Whatever was said there is almost certainly not a true reflection of yourself, no matter what you look like.

The only thing to do now is to never speak to this person again and hope they get banned from the community you're in. Unfortunately posting your actual face/private info in places like Discord is pretty dangerous and you have to be very careful who you reveal this info to. Thousands of 4chan threads are made a month and yours will likely be forgotten about by tomorrow, at the very least.
