• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

The big five personality traits are the best accepted and most commonly used model of personality in academic psychology. If you take a college course in personality psychology, this is what you will learn about. The big five come from the statistical study of responses to personality items. Using a technique called factor analysis researchers can look at the responses of people to hundreds of personality items and ask the question "what is the best was to summarize an individual?". This has been done with many samples from all over the world and the general result is that, while there seem to be unlimited personality variables, five stand out from the pack in terms of explaining a lot of a persons answers to questions about their personality: extraversion, neuroticism, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness to experience. The big-five are not associated with any particular test, a variety of measures have been developed to measure them. This test uses the Big-Five Factor Markers from the International Personality Item Pool, developed by Goldberg (1992).

Predicting high neuroticism (low ES, on this test) and low extraversion for SS members . What I'm pretty curious about is openness (intellect/imagination here).

If you want to know more about the test (like the methodology used to derive it, its predictive uses, etc.) this is a good article.

Response template since images aren't working:

Extroversion:
Emotional stability:
Agreeableness:
Conscientiousness:
Intellect/Imagination:

Edit: You can post images by highlighting the image/selection, selecting "copy", and pasting (as opposed to "copy image" or saving the image to your device first). Example:

Results summary

Your results from the IPIP Big Five Factor Markers are in the table below. The table contains a raw score and also a percentile, what percent of other people who have taken this test that you score higher than.

Extroversion: 6 (checks out)

Emotional stability: 30 (dunno about that one) (wait is that high or not i can't tell)

Agreeableness: 7

Conscientiousness: 9

Intellect/Imagination: 93 (holy shit?!)

I wasn't entirely sure how to read these, so I just grabbed them from the score percentile, which was a bit odd since the bar for emotional stability was shorter than the one for agreeableness, despite the ES percentile being larger(?)

I would've just sent a screenshot if I could, but SaSu seems to be having a mental breakdown when it comes to uploading images right now...

Seems about right for me, I love doing these kinda tests ! I'm insanely neurotic but I also like to socialise so long as I'm comfortable with the people I'm talking to, if not I'm all over the place and sweaty and stumbling over my words lol

The bars are related to how many points you got on the test itself while the score percentile tells you how you compare to the average person. So this probably means that the average person scores more points on agreeableness than ES. You were right to post the percentiles—the scores/bars on their own don't say much.

I'd forgotten the images were broken. That sucks. I will be bumping this when they're fixed lol.

I guess skepticism fits for me, competitiveness though? Absolutely not.
I felt like an idiot and deleted it shamefully bc I saw your other quote w aergia and realised you meant the correlation to the bars and the actual numbers not misunderstanding the meanings of each category 😭

This is arguably the worst version of the test you can find online. This one has much more detailed and easier-to-read results.

Ok, look. I know the Myers Briggs thing is all unscientific and total bullshit, but it marked me as a hardcore INFP-T at the ripe old age of 12 and EVERY SINGLE PERSONALITY TEST I take says the EXACT SAME THING!

Extroversion - 1 (I), 😆
Emotional Stability - 16 (T)
Agreeableness - 35 (F), I used to score way higher on this when I was younger, before I got angry at life in general
Conscientiousness - 93 (N but not really, this is an extreme INFP trait though)
Intellect/Imagination - 76 (P)

God fucking damn it I cannot get away from this label! 🤣🤣🤣

Emotional stability - 1% (dunno what that means, does that mean im unstable emotionally?)
Agreeableness - 40%
Conscientiousness - 57%
Intellect/imagination - 52%

I guess It's not that bad???

Mine too, even the neuropsychological tests I was submitted by a professional match.

It's more like a tool for self awareness, it can change according to your current mind state too.

The human psyche is still very unknown, my fear is that once we figure out how to accurately measure and simulate this kind of thing it will be probably turned into a tool of mass manipulation.

There's already research on the matter that claims it can simulate peoples behavior by feeding survey data like the big five with accuracy of about 80%

AI will probably be the last straw in the downfall of society.

There's no good or bad I guess, each trait indicates affinities in one area or another, but that's about it

Thanks. The reason I chose the one I did was because it was the only one I knew of that showed score percentiles which seem a lot more salient/reliable than any raw scores. I guess that one could be more useful for individuals, though.

Dude, these are online tests. You shouldn't be going to them for reliability nor should you even be taking them seriously at all. It's not like administering this test in a controlled setting or something. You take them for fun.

Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism, respectively. For Neuroticism I just inversed the count (100 - 8 = 92.)

I am intensely neurotic and intensely extraverted person. I'm very sociable but an intense autist as well; perhaps paradoxically. Hope this contributes well for the count.

If the tests shouldn't be taken seriously then the one that was linked by the OP should be fine for them to take. It's all about fun.

I'm not taking them seriously though. I didn't say they'd be reliable in an absolute sense, just that score percentiles contain more information and are therefore more reliable relative to the raw scores that other online (and thus also unreliable in this view) tests would give.
