Not sure what to say if questioned about getting n or police ask to search property. Will be worse consequences lying to police. Any advice if God forbid this would happen?

I don't know about the horrible UK but someone bought it in Australia and it was just confiscated from her.

In the states as well as most other western countries, you have a right "not to talk to the police". If they confront you tell them you want to remain silent until you speak with a lawyer. Don't even argue with them, and if they arrest you, of course don't resist. If they call you don't talk to them or call them back.

If you cant afford one, they're supposed to assign you a public defender for free.

They can be quite strict, but you shouldn't be too worried. Just make sure you have nothing incriminating in your house, because there may be a raid (not very likely, but its good to be prepared). Delete all emails pertaining to the negotiation, clear your browser data, use incognito mode all the time (or better yet, Tor). ProtonMail for encryption.

If the feds to come knocking, don't talk to them, admit to nothing, demand a public defendant. They probably won't even charge you with anything. You'll just lose the N.

Nothing incriminating? But hopefully I'll have the n? I have tor but keep forgetting to activate it :/

If you receive the N at your house then everything went fine and nobody will pay you a visit. The legal trouble will only happen if Customs seize it, and send it along the feds (I don't know the actual law enforcement agencies in the UK with jurisdiction on this matter.)

Indeed, public defenders are the worst. They'll try to make you accept some sort of plea agreement.

In fairness, they are often overworked and underpaid because no voter is going to vote for a politician that supports increasing the funding for free legal services. It is considered being "soft on crime" to support the rights of the accused.

I think it depends on the public defender whether they want to help you, but what they can actually do for you without throwing all their other cases tends to be limited. It's a bad job if you have empathy for your clients.

Theoretically you can be fined quite heavily for personally possessing N in most countries, and one always has to bear the worst case scenario in mind in their own personal risk assessment. In practice, people have just had their N confiscated and sometimes smaller fines. Most of these people have the advantage that nobody is really gung-ho for the cops to arrest old people for buying their own end-of-life drugs, and that people don't want to know about it. Younger people with cancer and stuff have gone to court a couple of times and just had to pay a fine. To be fair, these people may have had help from end of life orgs.

Importing large quantities (enough to be considered a traffickable quantity) or on behalf of others is what risks the serious legal trouble and cases that some people have gone through.

If you can't afford a lawyer, wouldn't they appoint a public defender? Do you have the right to remain silent in the UK? If you got caught maybe it would be best to tell them how miserable your life is and how you just wanted peace. Maybe they would show mercy in that scenario. Just thinking out loud.

I tracked the package and it says - held by customs until addressee notified.

People have been known to be given the wrong tracking numbers. Or the tracking is not updated or is incorrect. Customs often delays packages, particularly if they're opened and checked. But hidden items still may not be detected... I agree it doesn't look good, but I don't think it's time to panic just yet.

My understanding is that it's not illegal to receive a package, as anyone can send to anywhere to set them up. Otherwise everyone would send nasty things to their enemy or ex to set them up all the time! I believe they need proof you actually purchased it. And they need warrants / probable cause to get that and I'm sure it's all too hard for them. Most people just get confiscation or possibly a small fine.

Remember, just stay calm. You've done nothing wrong. Deny, then say nothing without legal aid. I think the worst thing that could happen would be sectioned to psych ward for a few days but I'm sure it will be fine... I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

Oh yes tis not like i ordered it and will be having a great time taking it!!
We gotta do what we gotta do. People who claim to enjoy life can't seem to comprehend what a prison it is for people like us wether we have a mental or physical condition.
