The Metamorphosis of Death
Your greatest love will inevitably become your greatest sorrow.
Not unlike Cassandra, you will probably realize this before the end.
With each passing day, you will know the cost of letting him go.
For every moment of joy you had with him, you will shed at least one tear.
The oceans are not as wide and deep as the pain when you lose him.
All love and joy metamorphosis into grief and horror.
When you dream, you will be with him again.
But even in your dreams, you will know it is not possible to be with him again.
The rivers of your tears are no solace for the depth of your loss.
You thought love was eternal. You told each other that it would last beyond the end of time.
But in reality, It cannot last beyond a mortal persons life span.
The doors of time have closed, and that love is gone forever.
You cannot breathe properly without him.
Yet your heart keeps beating, day after tortuous day.
You let him go. At the cost of losing your own soul.
You feel him in your bed, at your side.
Yet, when you reach out, there is nothing there.
The emptiness fills your house, heart and soul.
The rest of your world thinks you should be done mourning.
They do not know that if it were up to you,
This whole world would be let go, the way you let him go.
They say, "Would he want it so, wouldn't he want you to be happy?"
But the reality is that he would want to be with his mom. Period.
Because he understands love. And that death itself means nothing compared to true eternal love.
