Not sure if there are (m)any fellow Dutch nature lovers here, but here goes.

I'm thinking of what the best place to ctb would be and I think nature is where I'd feel the most at peace (home doesn't feel like a great idea anymore).

So if you happen to know any beautiful and peopleless nature spots, let me know!

Not in the Netherlands, but nature away from people sounds like the perfect spot. I wish you the best in finding the perfect peaceful spot to ctb and be free of this cruel world

It does! And just the thought of being one with the nature, at least for a second before death, feels so comforting and symbolic.

Aww, thank you! Counting days here

Can I ask how soon you're planning? It is definitely comforting and symbolic for sure to be one with nature, before, during and after death

A peopleless nature spot in the Netherlands, I have yet to discover that. I don't think I've ever been anywhere in the Netherlands where I couldn't see or hear people or traffic. It's my main reason for not feeling comfortable in this country. I hope you find a peaceful spot, and I'd be excited to know if you do!

So relatable! You go to a thing Dutch people call a "forest" and no matter how deep in you go, you can still see/hear traffic

If I don't get any recommendations, the plan is to visits some biggest green parts with trees on Google maps and see what I can find!

Haha so true. And if you can't find your forest you could always go to the Dutch 'mountains'. :')

Joking aside, it sounds like a really nice way to go, in nature. I wish you the best of luck finding a place!

Ik heb geen idee waar je precies woont, maar als Limburger hier raad ik het Brunsummerheide sterk aan. Het is groot, het is rustig en er is zand waar je schoenenloos kan lopen.

Sorry, my Dutch is actually not that great! But thank you so much for the recommendation, it looks like a beautiful place. I'll definitely visit it to look around for quiet enough spots

Hahaha yes, loving the "alps" here! :smiling: But at least biking is easy wherever you go!

Thank you!!

So true... I wish I could go unfound forever, but that's probably quite impossible, no matter where I go.

I flirt with the idea of going to a public park on a hot summer day, and wait for the night until everyone chas left. Maybe a day with no moonlight and no clouds so it gets really dark. I don't know why that feels like an appealing place. I sort of want to be seen before I'm gone. I want to have be where everyone else was during the day. Social isolation is what let me to death, and so I want to make a point I guess, I'm right here. And also it would be a great few of the stars at night, and thevwarm sun during the day, and seeing other people happy together would give me the courage to do it (because it reminds me of what I'm missing). I mean a park in Amsterdam or Utrecht maybe.

This would be a lovely place but you may consider camping overnight for an early morning when no one will be around.

Ok now for the professional opinion from @Busdriver

Cheers

What a statement to end your life with :) Truly interesting.

For me, it is kind of the other way around though. I feel a very strong urge to hide, especially since seeing people only increases my anxiety. So I am looking for a place where I would not see any people for at least a couple of hours and feel completely alone with nature. It would also help ensure that I am not found too soon before N has finished its job.

Looks like a lovely place, thank you! I hope I find time to visit it, don't have too much of it left. I would like to get to know the place where I'll ctb. That'll help with my anxiety.

I have considered camping - a tent would also give me more privacy and fewer chances to be found.

Cheers!

De Veluwe?
Just visited it yesterday, beautiful place! Didn't find a remote spot with a lake view, but I also didn't manage to see all of it.

But still might be a good option if I can't find anything else :)

I guess life isn't so good even in rich and scenic countries. On a side note it is crazy that so many of us speak English. The amount of influence those crazy colonizing British had over the entire world is mind boggling to think about.

I love the idea of ctb in nature, I would love to leave this world somewhere peaceful and isolated. There is so much natural beauty in this world. I don't live in the Netherlands but on research I like the idea of the Dunes of Texel National Park. It is hard to go somewhere people less but I like the idea of ctb in the early hours of the morning.

Hahaha true, should we be thanking the British for being so colonising?

I feel the same way! I feel at home when I'm in nature.

Thank you for doing some research, that place looks absolutely amazing! I'd love to go there just to walk around.

Early morning hours? Interesting choice, can I ask why? For me it was always the evening - it is both metaphorical and the part of the day when I feel the worst.

Probably just because it is generally the quietest time of day, and I wouldn't want much noise to disturb my ctb

Me neither! That's why I am looking for an area with lots of trees so that I could go deep into the forest where no one else would think of going.

Ideally, I'd like to have a small lake or a pond among trees, but still looking for something like that.

Let me know if you find something nice!
