Hi i have attempted multiple times, and have gotten very, very close with partial suspension hanging. I will probably end up trying this again, however i recently remembered several years ago looking at the possibility of purchasing what are known as pistol crossbows. Some look like toys, and plasticy, but after reading some reviews, and seeing some of the arrows you can buy to use with them i was quite interested. Some of these things are very powerful in terms of velocity, and have a lot of force. You just need to be over 18 in my country (UK), and i wondered has anyone on this site maybe looked at and considered this as a possibility for a useful method. I have looked online and there are a few case reports of people using them on themselves and achieving their goal. One of them sounded extremely painful though, as he aimed it at his chest. I was thinking of possibly using it like a firearm, but am concerned if something went wrong and i missed where i wanted it to go.

I will recommend watching some bow hunting videos to familiarize yourself with arrow injuries. Some arrows will make a puncture and some have wide blades for maximum blood loss. It sounds scary, but also fairly reliable if you prepare correctly.

Hi there. I own both a pistol crossbow and a regular crossbow. I can testify that a pistol crossbow is still scarily powerful, and certainly not to be messed around with.

However I did some research on this myself, and found quite a few instances where people using a full powered crossbow, shot themselves in the head. The bolt penetrated the brain, and yet they survived.

I read one medical account where a man shot himself in the head. Penetrated his brain, and yet had to draw and fire a second shot, again into the head, to finish the job. I can't imagine what those moments must have been like.

I respect your decision, and I sympathise with whatever suffering you are facing, but to me, this just sounds to be horrific as a method.

Thank you, i did read one also where a guy i think in the US shot himself near the liver. Then unbelievably had the strength to sit up, reload and aim again. It sounded horrendous and the coroner and death investigators were shocked. The thing i am most scared of is failure causing a brain injury. My go to right now is suspension hanging, as i came so close last time. I appreciate your knowledge and feedback, i wasn't sure whether to post the question as i don't really want to encourage someone who may think "fuck it why not" . I just want a method with a high chance of success, with as little suffering like most of us here.

I'm a fairly strong guy, but it takes a hell of a lot of strength to draw my compound crossbow. I can't imagine being able to do that under such extreme circumstances.

I never like to see someone leave here. I don't have much hope for myself, but I'm always hopeful that others can turn it around and go on to better things. What I do know for sure, is that if someone is going to go, I want them to have as little suffering as possible, and the dignity they deserve.

I wish you all the best friend, whatever you decide to do.

I am concerned about failure though, as that would be catastrophic. Obviously failure with other methods are too, it's just a little worrying. I thought i would ask what other members thought of it though.
